Taylor's been a touring musician since she was like 15. She knows what she's doing.

Sort of related: on this other blog I read, the author said these days it is possible to have a #1 country hit and yet be unrecognized on the streets of Nashville. I think music stars, outside of a Taylor Swift or Beyonce, just don't hold the prestige they once did. Roger Daltrey even said so on Howard Stern. If you're from 30 years ago, you can REALLY forget it!

Rick Beato mentioned this in a video, even about bands he's produced. He said Shinedown and Puddle of Mudd are "faceless."

It’s true. In the age of the internet and YouTube, celebrity longevity means a lot less. Particularly for musicians.

You have to be a very famous tv or movie actor to be imminently recognized wherever you go. And a pair of glasses and a ball cap, even the likes of Springsteen or Bono can walk in airports undetected.

Swift, Beyoncé, and RiRi are probably exceptions. Jagger and McCartney maybe.

I heard Taylor was very gracious & said: Let's give it up for Mr. Ted Nugent, for sponsoring the event!

Early '80's: Big hair and fluorescent clothes are mocked. U2 and Metallica hit the mainstream in '87 and '88, which was really the start of the '90's. Van Halen's end of the decade, '80-'85, is swept under the rug.
I would disagree. Wall street has been after our cash for the past ten years. So many 80's songs in commercials. They got that Whitesnake one going right now 24/7.

Def Leppard and others represent and they're doing fine.

U2 were pretty big before Joshua. And 1987 is not the 90's.

Hey, I don't know what to tell you guys. The Stones numbers were down in 2015. I listened to a bunch of baby boomers whine about it on the Stones forums that year. Saw videos taken by them that showed near sell outs, but thousands short, sometimes.
Did they still kill it, yes, but not in the usual style die hard fans are accustom too.

VH on the other hand, have not been killing it the last two tours and if they toured in 2017 would've seen more droppage.

I wonder if Ed saw this video and he realizes he's not as "relevant" as Sam?

If you mean Ed realizes that Dave is not as relevant as Sam, in this scenario, then Ed would be correct in his observation.

Solo, Sam is way more relevant.

    But in VH, DLR is.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I think he means Sam would have been instantly recognized and those guys would have started eating tacos and doing jumping Jacks at the sight of him.

Yeah, go smoke some more of that .

These guys are recognized by their fans. Outside of that you can forget it. There was a time when Dave and Ed were instantly recognized and even part of the mainstream pop culture , but those days are long gone.

Those guys would have thought, "Cool! Guy Fieri is here to make us some tacos and have a party!"

I don't know why this is necessary. Randy Gradishar, who was an all-pro linebacker for the Broncos used to come into a gym I worked at to workout. No one knew who he was, to them he was just some old guy coming in to get a workout in. I knew because I watched him play as a kid and because his name came up on the screen when he swiped his card. One time when he came in I casually said, "Raiders suck" and he looked at me and smiled.

So ripping Dave because a few millenials didn't recognize him is quite silly. He doesn't look like the guy on the album covers anymore.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.
