Default Finally, coming out of the closet...

My GF and i moved during the Winter, and we inherited this huge, creepy
walk in closet that was used as storage for the previous tenants.

Been cleaning out that thing for four weeks, and it was a pretty satisfying
    early Spring project.

Anyone else under taking home or apartment related projects?
Anyone building a man-cave in the basement?

Re-doing porch railings and my outbuilding where my lawn stuff is kept. Tricking out my golf cart with new wheels and tires too. May reupholster the seats as well.

Installing a laminate floor in the home gym...really just a converted bedroom that has the treadmill, Elliptical (it’s the wife’s), the slide board and yoga mats..also installing the laminate in the closet, repainting and putting in a “California-style” closet.

    Congrats, man!!!

Right now? Hummmm ... No. But a few months ago, yeah!

I got this apartment to me and my kids and it took about 03/04 months in this decent reform. The all new electric part was so well done!!!! We got brand new conductors and outlets and switchs. It's a guarantee, a security of not having troubles in the future. Also a new floor with porcelain tiles that imitates wood. So far, So good!!

We moved houses a couple of years ago so home improvement projects are the norm for me. Last week it was repainting the front door and installing a new lock and handle. This weekend I'm intending on painting the shutters. Last summer I dug a trench to replace a broken sump pump pipe that was buried in our backyard. It had frozen a few times and cracked which caused little fountains to sprout every time the sump pump would kick on. This caused a wash out in several spots. After I dug the trench, my brother and I installed a new (and larger) pipe to handle the load.

Speaking of closets, for my wife's birthday I redid our master closet. i ripped down the old shelving, patched and repainted everything, and then hung a new closet system to better store all of her stuff. I don't really enjoy doing this stuff, but it comes with the territory.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Lol, I don’t enjoy it either, although it is very satisfying to finish...even if I’m stuck with spontaneous and temporary bouts of Tourette’s Syndrome while doing home improvement projects.

Wood grain porcelain type in the living room is next on the list (I might just contract this project) ..after I tear down and rebuild the backyard dense.

Thank Heaven for impact drivers and nail guns!

BTW We have two master walk-ins...neither are mine....in fact The Master Bath, I rarely use...I use the our home gym’s on-suite.

You guys got some serious skills, and sounds like the work is worth the satisfaction
    in the end.

I remember coming home once, after a couple weeks, and this miniature house that was a tiny duplication
of the full sized house next to it, suddenly happened to appear.
Same paint, windows, matching entrance door, etc.

I said to my Dad, WTF??? Who made that???

He said: Oh, your old friend from High School does carpentry now & house painting,
he has a little business out here, and i told him i needed more storage for my tools,
the mowers & snow blower....and, yeah, he put that up for me.

    I couldn't believe my eyes.

Man!! I love doing these things at home, even cleaning and stuff. I had these little trouble caused by a water pipe that broke and infiltrated the fluid to the living room's wall and the painting was almost lost. So I figured how to fix the compression fitting and then repaint that wall. I'll tell you: It was damn cool doing that and I could not believe the result was amazing - you can not see any difference in a before/after comparison. I'm also good on electrical parts and assemble TV/Sound systems and furnitures.
