Anyone who has claimed to have known anything in the past has been proven to be talking out of their ass.

We know VH contacted Mike about a tour so clearly Wolf was not going to be playing with them. Seems like a reasonable guess that he'd open since he'd have an album to try to promote.
Yeah, i do not get the "completely ludicrous" was "never in the cards," responses, when they
clearly were considering Mike, since he was contacted.

Folks on here allude to having inside info, knowledge of the inner workings, but none
of it ever comes to fruition.

I think your theory makes the most sense.

Now, what derailed that idea, i'm not sure.

Hey it's also possible that Azoff reached out to Mike and the brothers shot it down and the initial plan was for them to be Wolf's backing band. Who knows? Sadly with this band all we can to is take educated guesses.

I just don't think Irving would do that, unless he got the go ahead from the brothers.

Knowing the way Ed holds grudges, i can't imagine him saying: I'll just call Mike first,
then run it by the brothers.

They wanted him to "pass the note" to Mike, to use the High School analogy.

When a bunch of kids start a band the majority of their fan base isn't gonna be 40/50 year old's.

I think it was gonna be THIS year.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything from 2016-18. After two tours three years apart, dwindling sales, I figured it could be four years till next time. Unfortunately, looks like five.

Greta Van Fleet has to have listened to a lot of Zeppelin bootlegs, cuz they have lifted licks and whole phrases that Zeppelin only played in concert, and some stuff only on specific tours.

I have to disagree there. A new band of twenty year old's and there fan base is half 40/50 year old's? They better hope not!
Ten years from now when their fan base is 60 they're in trouble.

I think i got "No Mean City" in a trade for an Aerosmith album, and i loved it,
so then i got Play N the Game, in one of those "nice price" deals.

As soon as that riff kicked in, with Dan's always awesome vocals, i was into it.
