EVH: Definitely. Playing guitar was my sanctuary. It was the one place I could go to if I got fucked around by a girlfriend, or anyone else, for that matter. It still is. If there’s something I can’t deal with, I can just spend hours playing. It’s a God-given gift – I certainly don’t know where the ideas come from. They’re obviously given to you, and you have to keep your fingers moving and your mind quiet. I try my best to not think about thinking, so I can just let it flow. Because when I start thinking, forget it. <br />So....why he isn't playing guitar ? ? ?

Man, that looks like they're all having fun. Paul's going nuts back there, drummer just giddy knowing he gets to hammer for a while.

    Cool piece of footage, thanks.
You know the best tone I ever had was with that little bandmaster cranked to 10. Edward Van Halen, 1980, Guitar Player Magazine.

Thanks Bro! I have this on a compilation video tape at home and love it everytime I see it. BTW, Valerie Bertinelli was a guest on the show the same night. It's cool to see how effortlessy Eddie plays the song. I'm sure he could play it in his sleep if he wanted to. When Val hosted Saturday Night Live, Eddie plays an instrumental tune with G.E. Smith who was the SNL Band leader at the time. I forget the name of the the tune but they trade licks back and forth. Very cool as well.

I,ve been thinking about putting Stompin' 8H up there, as a matter of fact. I have alot of stuff and limited space, so I can only have 2 or 3 vid up at once. I will probably only leave things up for a week at a time, otherwise, we will never get to the Oakland '81 stuff!!

O.K.- I am getting this figured out! I can fit more than I thought in my tiny little web arena! Hear are two more: the aforementioned Stompin' 8H from SNL web page

And, a rare but tasty little nugget fron 88'
    web page .

I'll be putting a lot (and I mean ALOT) more vids up and removing old ones when I need more space. Hell, I might even cut up the US Festival into large chunks and put that up!!
