I noticed a copyright of 2015 on the video, so this isn't new. New to me though. Thanks for sharing.

I hadn't seen this either. I really approve of his choices.

Maybe he was promoting the live record at that time?

    Yup, solid choices.

Didn’t Ed disown that live album pretty much upon release by saying it was Dave’s choice once the critics got ahold of it?

I don’t remember much promotion behind it except for Kimmel and Ellen.

Unfortunately that video coincided with the infamous interview where EVH said the following:

"Every note Mike ever played, I had to show him how to play," he insisted. "Before we’d go on tour, he’d come over with a video camera and I’d have to show him how to play all the parts."

Even if that was true, why bring it up?

I love ya Ed, but that was some bush league BS right there.

I think Ed was trying to build up Wolf.

It didn’t work. It only pissed off the fanbase.

Surprisingly in that interview he let Sammy off softly with saying he embellished his book but conceded he was an angry drunk in 2004.

    That interview pissed me off.

It was easy skipping that tour.

The Tokyo boat cover was the principal image for the entire 2015 Tour.

At every venue it was the featured graphic at entry points and ticket booths. It was also on t-shirts and other merch as well.

Not sure if the CD was also sold at the Merch booths...

Exactly. It could be true or be based in truth, but man does he come off petty making that statement. Anything to validate Wolf I guess...

I wouldnít go that far. I think k he was fed up with everyone thinking that it was just mike that made the high notes in the background. Heís half right. Ed did do a lot in the early days.

There's probably a kernel of truth in there in that I remember an interview from the 5150 or OU812 era where Ed said something along the lines of, "Sometimes I show Mike exactly what I want and other times he just does what he thinks works with the song. He usually doesn't have a strong opinion either way."

I know when I played in bands sometimes our bass player would come up with stuff and he'd have to show me how to play it and vice versa. So it happens.

The problem is the way Ed said it made it sound like Mike couldn't play and we all know that's not true.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.
