Some of you really put seriously unwarranted weight on VH's legacy these days. Because of his solo efforts and other projects, he's going to come out cleaner on that aspect of musical legacy, the rest of the band won't.
A-gain, his "main" legacy but I think we're splittin' hairs at this point. And I take pride in being able to sing "Straight from the Hip Kid," God help me.

Probably helps that he's active, has a number of pop culture irons in the fire at all times, is well respected around the industry, and is not a douchebag like what's left of Van Halen.
    110% factual statement.

Thatís why I want to see him succeed. If nothing else to stick to those assholes at 5150.

EVH: Oh, I hadn't thought about that. That's some great music. They're just on vacation, maybe. They're off to college and they're going their own way. Who knows?"

His main legacy is himself. His biggest musical peak, in the mainstream, was Van Halen. There's a difference.

God help you indeed if you can sing Straight from the Hip word for word.

Ehh, I don't care how his activity relates to VH, nor should he, nor does he. Everybody wants Sammy to be resentful, as if VH is something to be coveted so mightily, but he really isn't lol. Apart from defending Mike's good name, pretty sure Sam could give a fuck about what happens in VH these days.

    As he shouldn't.

We're the only ones left who do, quite honestly.

Overall I'd say I was disappointed by the album, but that's without me recalling how much his efforts have been called in of late. "Can't Hang" is great, but overall the album is very lazy. Funny how we lament the artists who tour the same old hits for years, but this is the danger in cranking out new material well past your prime.

But hey, I love Sammy, and when I get loaded some night I'll love this album too.

If you purchased tickets online to one of our 15 participating shows, the new album Space Between was included with every ticket. A reminder email was issued on Thursday morning, so please check for an email (including spam folder) from either noreply@tmmr.com or help@musicredemptions.com (Bakersfield and Bensalem ONLY)

Please make sure you redeem all of your albums (you can share any codes you aren’t using with friends) so that we can ship the CD to your home. This is important in helping Sammy & The Circle have a great first week debut on the charts.

For those who did not receive a redemption email and purchased from Ticketmaster, please head to www.ticketmaster.com/h/customer-service.htm

I just got my email to redeem 2 copies.

Plus the vinyl I bought that puts me at 3 copies. I’ll use those CDs as gifts for people.

You can keep barking that fanboy choir all you want, doesn't change the hard truth that Sammy has become his own entity beyond Van Halen.

If you're one of the peanut gallery that thinks he was nobody before and nobody after Van Halen, good for you.

Some of us were VH fans before 1991. And some of us knew who Sammy was before Van Halen. And some of us don't need to drink the Halen Kool-Aid to see the forest beyond the trees.

Oh he was somebody, just not a legacy-in-the-making. He was less popular than Billy Squier.

So, in 30 years when the average person hears the name "Sammy Hagar," the first thing that pops into their head is NOT going to be "Van Halen?"

    Van Halen doesn’t define Sammy.
it mostly does. Slash isn't only known for Guns N Roses, but he mostly is.
