The 1980s and this current decade are the only ones in which the Yankees didn't/haven't won at least one World Series.

The Giants suck and the Dodgers are great........ So of course SF wins 4-2 last night...lol... Small sample size obviously.

Should be a good one in LA tonight with Bumgarner vs Ryu.

Giants also made a minor trade. Picked up OF Kevin Pillar. Just minor league guys going the other way, no top prospects. Pillar will shore up the Defense in the OF and is at least a legit MLB player. His hitting and OBP are trending down as he gets past 30 years old. Will probably platoon in CF and RF.

Just a reminder for FUDD that I am the all knowing, all seeing when it comes to Atlanta Braves Prospects ...lol...

ATLANTA -- Ronald AcuŮa Jr. and the Braves made a huge commitment to one another on Tuesday, in the form of the eight-year, $100 million contract the club announced on Tuesday.

So my sister and brother-in law went to the Dominican Republic, and all I got was this handmade wooden baseball.

    Lol. Actually, it's fuckin' groovy!

    They're in Cabo now.

all this talk about speeding up the game - I listen to primarily national league games and feel like they used to get in at around 3 hours - usually a few minutes on either side. Recently it seems though like the games I'm listening to are pushing 4 hours. Of course, the score being 9-8 might have something to do with that, but still!

Itís because managers make so many pitching changes now.

Exactly..no one goes more than 6 innings anymore. Half dozen pitching changes combined at what, 6-7 minutes each. Guys stepping out after every pitch adjusting gloves, spitting, checking third base coach with no one on base doesn't help
    Dealing with it.

average game length hasn't changed much recently. Last year it was 3:04. In this decade it's 3:02. Decade prior 2:54 . In the 90s it was 2:54. I'm guessing every game being on tv is the main factor as the games averaged 2:30 in the 70s

I go to 1 or 2 games a year. Length of game doesn’t bother me.

The world is changing so baseball appears to be slow. That's the reality. People used to read books for entertainment and while some still do, there are other ways to keep us occupied for a shorter period of time.

Baseballs always been boring between pitches and hits. Its baseball. Batting gloves slowed down the game a lot. Always adjusting the velcro. Like I said its baseball lol.

There's also some pitchers who just seem to take forever between pitches. That doesn't help

I had never seen the adjustment of batting gloves as much until Nomar Garciaparra did that. Then it just blew up. Most batters do it...even after taking a pitch. WTF.
