If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

SGMAD has such a fun main riff, similar in a way IMO to One Way to Rock...
The main notes and chords are obvious, yet the rests and muted notes (rhythm feel) are often lost by some cover axemen... To be fair, even Nuno stunk (IMO) at the Mean Street intro funk slap/tapping. At least in the clips I saw.

LUTS but there are a bunch of tracks close to each other for the top spot. The only tune I love just a little less than the rest is Beautiful Girls.

Some of Al's best drumming on this album. Really love the tuning of his toms on this album and that this is the first album to feature his Octobans that he bought while on the first world tour.

Same here. Perfection. Been listening to it for 35 years and it never fails to calm me/lift my spirits. May as well be classified as a mood enhancing drug! This song even still gets repeat listens on occasion.

This was the second album I ever owned of the six pack.

At that point I owned 1984, 5150 and OU812 (most recent release at the time)

So I have a soft spot for VH2.

I think Roth has no better performance on album than this. This is also Michael Anthony’s finest hour.
