The three Halens look great, and it reminds me of an old quote of Eddie's... This was after a mention that he regretted there weren't any more kids in the family. "I used to ask my mom 'where's our bass player?' It's no joke, I swear I did!"

His wish came true in a roundabout way, albeit many years later. Congrats, Eddie & Wolfgang. I'm sure Jan and Eugenia are looking down and are proud

Yep. He gets it on Twitter and he gets stupid shit on here, too. Did you know Ed went back into 5150 after hours and rerecorded all the bass parts on ADKOT. It must be true, because it was said on here.

Well I agree that it's ridiculous to fight about that kind of stuff but to be fair I remember hearing that in the 90s, that it was written for Wolfgang, and also thinking "Uh what? No, it existed long before he was even conceived and any fan should know that." I almost feel like maybe I read even Eddie claim that he wrote it for him but I'm not gonna bother researching it. But clearly it was titled and dedicated to him, not created for him or inspired by him. That's not diminishing it any, it's just a matter of historical record.

And I still maintain that from the little we see of him, Wolfgang overall still comes off as a likeable and mature guy, considering he's a millennial and the child of two celebrities. In that context I don't see much to criticize..

Except for where the hell is your album????!?!??!?

I don’t remember Ed saying he wrote it for him but that he used to play it to him when he was a baby.

We all know Ed was playing it as early as 1986.

What Ed said is he used to put an acoustic on Val's belly and play that tune when Wolf was in utero and he would respond by kicking or whatever so he recorded it and called it 316.

It doesn't really matter what the truth is, a couple of douchebags on the internet writing that crap is pathetic, but I will say Wolf would be best served to just ignore it and not respond.

Of course that's easy for me to say as I'm sitting here and responding to it now...

That's entirely possible and probably right, I can't remember exactly how he worded it but I know he did address it in interviews. I probably conflated his interviews with what I read or heard elsewhere.

Just like Mozart and Beethoven's music will live on and is still performed by talented players, so too will Van Halen's.
I hear what you're saying here. I've never seen ACDC live, but I've seen a great ACDC cover band a few times (Back in Black - out of Texas, I think) and for me it was enough. They are talented, stay true to the music and I get both eras of singers. Plus, it's only $20 to see them and I can stand just a few feet from the stage. To see the real thing I'd be watching a big screen...

Same thing with the Atomic Punks. Saw them in 2004 or so, before the reunion and had a really great time. Up close and cheap, but almost like the real thing!
