Although I think Diver Down has the best sound/recording/production out of those six albums, it all comes down to the songs. Fair Warning all the way. Mean Street, Unchained, So This is Love, Hear About it Later, and One Foot Out the Door are amazing.

This is difficult, but I'll go with the debut.
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

Toss-up between Fair Warning and 1984. They're all awesome.. I actually like Diver Down.

Diver Down has become my favorite. “ Little Guitars”, “Secrets”, “. The Full Bug”, “ Hang em High”. “ Where Have All The Good Times Gone”, “ Cathedral”.... The only song I can’t stand is “ Dancing In The Street”. Otherwise, not sure why it gets shit on so much here.

Considering how many originals they had essentially ready to go, it's a crying shame that Diver Down had so many cover tunes on it.

It looks like the real Van Halen IV is running away with it …

Tough choice between VH1 and Fair Warning for me. Too many listens to both have warped my perception.
Diver Down 3rd, though. And probably 1984 6th, even though Panama never gets old. Can we add Zero?

Diver Down and W&CF ties at two votes apiece.

Also my two least fave of the 6 pack.

Those two albums should battle next Coulda.

I’d vote for Diver Down personally.

IMO, WACF would win in a landslide. It is a much better album than DD.

I think it would be closer than you think.
