Dave is a character....that's the only way I can describe him. I listened to a couple of clips and I listened to a few minutes when the interview was live....I don't think anyone on the face of the planet laughs at his own comments more than Dave and usually he's the only one to really get the joke, which is strange but hey, if he's happy-good for him.

While I prefer the Dave era as well I really think the perspective is skewed because of the singles the Hagar era promoted. Other than the couple big radio hits per album none of the other songs on those records probably had any more appeal to soccer moms than did the Roth era or any other hard rock band. Imagine the different impact if all the Roth albums were promoted with Jump and Pretty Woman type singles. I don't think it'd be much different. The mall girls that also bought 1984 did it for Jump and I'll Wait, not for Drop Dead Legs and House of Pain.

C'mon, they're not so subtly putting down the Hagar era... Don't use logic!

I'm not listening to DLR ramble. I would assume based upon comments that nothing of substance was mentioned about VH?

As far as I can tell that's true. he did discuss VH overall a little bit here and there but nothing in the way of current news or even hints.

    Dave is so hardcore.

He doesn’t question love, he ain’t Talkin Bout Love.

    ((((FART))))

Anyone who thinks the band’s massive success with Sammy doesn’t bother Dave is in denial. Why even bring up Hagar? There was more talk of Sammy than Van Halen.

Bring that competition to the stage Roth, you ain’t got shit.

So Rogan pummeled Alex Jones over and over about Alex's head injury, and what's and they why's.

But I don't think that dumbfuck Joe Rogan pressed Roth on Roth's singing "style." Rogan should have brought that up, and came down on one side or the other. These podcast hosts are not the real deal. All ponies and rainbows.

Lol, and anyone who doesnt think Sam is bothered by the massive success and generally more popular Dave era is living in denial. It's two successful rock singers with giant egos. Why do you even care? You dont like Dave anyways.

And, it was the host who brought up Sam, not Dave.

The fact that Dave sings as badly as he does now and yet still comes out as the GOAT of Van Halen singers must really gall Sammy to no end. I can understand his frustration. But, the legend was already in place when he joined; the magic and mystique had already come and gone. It was time for mass appeal, or "mall rock", as it were. Sure, 5150 was a great album, but 1984 and 5150 were the peak. By the time 1987 came along, Metallica and GnR were the new kings.

It stings apparently. Rogan brought it up, not Dave. But of course that gets bypassed for some more Dave bashing. Rogan was spot on.

Edit:He’s also not a hard rock guy so why would he like CVH?
