It's videos like this one which make you appreciate the front man Dave is and excitement which Dave generates.

The problem with most of the 80's bands is just the low level of energy they bring. I know, they got old, but it still sucks. Most are just so pedestrian.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.
Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"
David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I don't mind Kip's voice at all but boy does it not work for a VH cover.

...whelp, I might as well get the elephant right out of the room:
In spite of the SugarMetalPop vitriol that this song has garnered over the last 30 years, from 3:20 on, if you can't hear any of the elements similar to what our beloved EVH, little Stevie Vai, and Satchmo have brought to the table as household guitar gunslingers, then you're probably deaf.
I give you the almost-criminally-underrated Reb Beach...Last edited by hubs; 02.11.19 at 10:01 PM.

Was never a huge Winger fan, but they were certainly talented and "Headed for a Heartbreak" is a ridiculously well written song. There's some really cool unexpected key changes, and drum work. It's almost like a Dream Theater song with a better singer. The outro solo is some of Reb's finest work.

SNL has always been just marginally funny. In the early years it was the cast that set them apart, and since then it's been hit and miss. Mostly miss. The cast with Hartman, Carvey, Myers, and Miller...
