Marijuana smells infinitely better than cigarettes.

Amazed anyone would prefer the smell of cigs. Gross

    Those things are pointless.

They're both disgusting. I get the medicinal use of MJ, but dont understand the fascination with its recreational use by so many people.

And these days, with all the info that is out there, it is just stupid to start smoking. Does anybody know if Alex still smokes? I cant recall seeing any recent photos of him smoking.

    1/10 the hangover of Alcohol.

Plus if you use edibles instead of smoking it... zero smell at all

    Just get the dosage right!

Cannabis should take 10% minimum of the Beer market within 5 years. (Buy Canopy stock now... it will be $80 in 2 years)

Haha, well I guess I just dont feel the need these days to put harmful things into my body to get an artificial high. Playing my drums, shooting hoops, playing with the kids, playing with my wife gets me all the high I need.

I think I can count on one hand the alcoholic drinks I had in 2018.

I find marijuana delightful. I enjoy it often for recreational purposes and prefer it to the consumption of alcohol. I get really spoiled on my trips to California and Colorado. Nothing beats the quality of legal, regulated, high THC marijuana.

For those who may wonder, I am not a smoker, I have never tried any other form of recreational drug, legal or illegal, I am 20 years into a comfortable career, I raised two great children, and have stable relationships with friends, family, and colleagues.

Both are deadly to the developing brains of teens and early 20s people and its medically proven. Our brains are not fully developed until we are around 25 years old.

You are correct. I would encourage any young person to wait. I did not start until I hit my mid-thirties.

It's pretty interesting to see how so many 'Dave' guys over the years claim total anti-drug solidarity. I guess a big part of the reason they like Dave so much is because he always did the things they were either unwilling or unable to do. Vicarious living through Van Halen. I get it. But man...Van Halen was a party band lol. We were fucking RAGING in the 80's. Weed, booze, coke, X, speed, 'shrooms, you name it. I stayed away from LSD because every single one of my buddies swore it changed you permanently, and I didn't like the sound of that. And we never did any horse or meth or crack, didn't need that kind of yoke to get high. But all the middle class suburbia dorm room high school cow tipping usual horseshit...plenty and then some.

Point being...we raged to Van Halen, emulated them. Lots of coke. Lots of deals in the back of a limo. A fucking shit ton of Jack Daniels and silver bullets. And since it was the fuckin' 80's, the bane of all white trash existence for Gen X -----Bartles and James wine coolers. Especially when doing coke or X (and menthol cigarettes). That shit was like liquid candy, and it fucked you up good, and the girls liked it. So lame though. Candied liquor was such a phase back then...southern comfort, apple schnapps, apricot brandy, wine coolers, those sweet little 'club' drinks in the mini cans....good gawd, I can still taste the Rumplemintze Peppermint Schnapps with the gold flakes just talking about this.

Tailgating was half the experience at Forum shows in Inglewood. They're much stricter about that now. But back then....holy shit, did we get wrecked. As did nearly everyone else there.

LOL. The 80's were a good time to be alive, young, and dumb. And Van Halen was the perfect band to soundtrack it.

After 1984 the album was a massive disappointment. No desire to here neil peart play the tuba or Edward van halen play anything but guitar.

Mrs JD is a middle school special ed teacher, art teacher, behaviour specialist, with many years of coaching both boys and girls basketball at the middle school and high school levels. She's often shown kids before and after brain photos showing the effects of both alcohol and marijuana. It is an eye opener to be sure.

5150 has 4 actually. And one of the ones on 1984 is merely the one minute opening track. Keyboards are definitely more prominent on 5150, although Ed's fascination with the 80s synth sound did start with 1984.

Lol, well this "Dave" guy did party a lot in my late teens/early 20s. Never was stupid enough to do drugs, especially coke, but I did certainly do my share of drinking, stupidly.
