How does Tokyo sound on vinyl? Has to sound better you would think?

LOL. Hard to listen to his solo spot and not think other wise.
I think otherwise. Hes awesome no doubt but hes not in the top echelon. Hes in the 2nd tier though.

Yep, hes definitely part of the cream of the crop of all time rock drummers. Definitely in the top tier.

Alex would get more love if: he wasnt in a band with Ed and the Dave/Sam drama, AND if he ever promoted himself or tooted his own horn and made instructional videos or even did more interviews. But none of that is his style, nor do I think he even cares about all that.

I was listening to my sports talk station on the way home yesterday and they played HFT for the bumper music coming back from commercial.

The hosts started talking about it and the one guy is like "that's Alex Van Halen. Listen to this double bass." His co host is Alfred Williams who played for the Broncos. He says, "you mean double bass pedals? With your feet?" The other guy says yeah and starts slapping his hands on the counter mimicking the bass drum. Williams starts trying to tap his feet and lasts about 10 seconds before he gives up and complains how hard it is trying to do that with Achilles issues.

They went on like a 5 minute rant on how hard it would be to hold that double bass pattern for the entire song. I was laughing my ass off listening to it.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

It does make one appreciate that Al was still kicking ass at 62 during the 2015 tour. That wouldve been a hilarious segment to listen to. Sometimes the best radio is when hosts will go off on wild, random tangents. A random discussion on a sports station admiring Alex Van Halen's skills is ok in my book.

It was great. They started singing "I'm hot for teacher" and it was horrible.

    Laughed my fucking ass off.

It was actually a cool VH day yesterday. The pizza joint I ate lunch at played DNTA, So This is Love and FWYS while I was there. I'm curious where their music feed was coming from because I don't think I've ever heard So This is Love played anywhere.

    Pretty equal votes!
The 'crap' era pitted against an official Dave release... I love it.

It’s weird that I like ADKOT more than III but it’s the other way around when it comes to the two concerts. It might’ve just been the mix. I recall listening to the bootleg of the Tokyo show (before the official release came out) and not disliking it.

Well, the poll is closed, but I'll unofficially break the tie with a vote for Tokyo Dome. I LOVE Gary's Mean Street performance from Sydney, but overall Tokyo Dome is better for me. It might help that I missed the '98 tour (they even came to Honolulu that tour but I was off island for fall break) and I saw the last few tours with Dave.

I'm going Australia with Cherone to hear some different stuff. Year to The Day I always thought was cool and I always dug Fire in The Hole.

I would rather listen to Australia because Ed, Al, and Mike were awesome.
