Can I tell you a secret. You have to promise not to tell anybody. Scouts honour. Sometimes when I listen to Diver Down I dig it so much grooving in the zone there's times I actually think of it as my #1 personal favorite VH album. There I said it. Not kidding either. Diver Down is my momentum from the summer of 1982. Fond memories attatched. And when I say fond I mean fond. Like really fond. Fond as fuck.

Nobody can ever take that away from me no matter who says what. Even Edward. Fuck 'em all.

    Diver Down is the bomb!!!!!!!!

    Exploding with rock & roll!!!!!
Man, I love this post. I literally felt your excitement. Rock on!

Is it sort of like that feeling you used to get when you climbed the rope in gym class?

You'll always be young when you listen to Diver Down.

It's a magical journey of reflective spiritiully sonic bliss. Kinda like going to church. But with girls, beers & weed.

I'm tempted to listen now but I'm playing Iron Maiden Piece Of Mind right now.

Morgan doesn't know what he's talking about.
DD is a classic record. Sure it had a bunch of cover stuff but they were Van Halenized and cool as hell.
The originals are not lame. They are great!

DITS is not a copy of the original either. WHATGTG and Pretty Woman are fairly close to the originals, but DITS has too much going on to be a carbon copy.

The part where they'd be gone in two years is beyond stupid. Ed was a huge reason why your magazine was so popular then. Him, being the best thing since Hendrix, and all the bands in your mag he inspired.
Clearly, he knew nothing about Aerosmith's drug problems, or VH's constant touring, resulting in DD being rushed out.

I admit I always dig your Diver love. It's a fuckin' great VH record. Except for PW. But the rest is all summertime aces.

I was playing in a poker tournament last night, and the music loop in house started blazin' DITS, and it was groo-vay for a bunch of us at the table.

Any idea where this was taken? I was at the gig in Rockford, Illinois.

I saw them on back-to-back nights at The Forum in Inglewood, CA in September 1982 on that tour.

I remember buying tickets from a scalper on the 2nd night. I think a buddy of mine and I paid something like $35 each for loge seats on Eddie's side of the stage. I also remember a couple of young hottie's sitting right in front of us with custom made shirts. One of them had Little Guitars written on the back and the other had Jamie's Cryin', which were there respective favorite VH tunes. Good times.
