I'm surprised that Sammy isn't on that list... You know, with all of his "fuck you" money that he brags about...

Thought Roger Waters and David Gilmour would of been listed somewhere.

"For some reason people love to complain about everything. The internet has made it easy for people to do that. Shut the fuck up and get a life, or show me how good you can do it."- Edward Van Halen

P.S. Klein tried to claim writes to some of the Songs on Exile, but he lost that battle.
Na, that can't be the case. MJ, or Sony never owned any of the popular songs. Gimmie Shelter, YCAGWYW, JJF....all that stuff is owned by ABKCO. Most everything from 1962-'70 is owned by them.
All those hits on Hot Rocks are ABKCO controlled.

Honestly, doesn't make sense he got any Stones songs in that deal. MJ musta got a hold of a few oddball/filler type songs.

Klein was in the picture way before '68. He did deals in the mid 60's. He musta been a co manager.

Yeah, they did recordings of those Sticky Finger tunes in 1969. Thus, he got those.

I think Klein got mostly the Brian Jones era material. My High Tides CD, Through the Past Darkly and Beggar's Banquet say Abcko, and I think Let It Bleed does, too. Sticky and Exile never had an Abcko label, so Klein didn't get those.

Everything through Get Your Ya Ya's Out is ABKCO, plus he got "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses", which is why they appear on pretty much every compilation, whether it is covering the early years (Hot Rocks) or later years (Rewind)

His net worth is listed as $120M. To me, that is fuck you money.

They left Decca in 1970. Sticky was the first record on their own label. Everything after 1970 has the tongue on it.

Billy is right. He owns everything before 1971 and some Sticky tunes cuz they were recorded in '69.

MJ getting a few Stones could have something to do with Decca distribution. Different companies are used in different countries.
Could be a loophole in there somewhere.

Just think if they were like most bands who dry out after the first five records, or even just two or three singles. They would've been world famous and barely made a dime! Lucky for them they were just getting warmed up!

I wonder if when they do "Time is On My Side" or "19th Nervous Breakdown" onstage it goes through their minds that they're putting more money in the pocket of the Klein family? I bet it does.

I don't think ABKCO gets a dime when the Stones play "Time Is On My Side" live, since they didn't write it?

Yeah, they were fortunate. Like you said, most of the time the well dry's up quick.

In the 70's and 1981 I think it did matter to them. The played less of that material on those tours. The past thirty years...probably not as much. They make so much on these tours.
And there's seven or eight tunes from that catalog they have to play every tour. Since '89, anyway.

Bono could actually have been worth a *lot* more but he's made some colossally bad huge investments including Palm and Forbes Inc which may have cost him personally anywhere from $250-$500 million.

John Fogerty is in his 70's, and the family of the guy who owned Fantasy Records STILL gets most of the money off those Creedence songs. I guess he can be grateful "Centerfield" gets played at a lot of baseball games.
