    Same here... Not only because of the insane price;
    21 frets? Not for me.
    No Floyd Rose? Not for me.

    IMO you can't go wrong with the EVH striped series version.

    Yeah... it'll be a hard pass for me too. I've played two of the $25K Frankie replicas and my homebrew Frankie still appealed to me more in every way. It played better, felt better and sounded better...and it cost me less than $1400.

    I've always wondered what I would think if I got to play the original Frankie.

    Something tells me I'd think it was a piece of shit.

    That guitar is so unique to Ed I bet it just plays like absolute shit for anyone else.
    The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

    Excuse my ignorance, but how can that guitar be considered an Eruption relic?

    Because everyone assumes that Edward used that guitar to record Eruption...

    But he actually used this one;

    Thatís the thing about it. Who would buy this? Anyone can take a Strat body with a crude paint job and slap a good Birdseye neck on it. Stick a PAF in there for what, 5 or $600 total?

    If you want to go balls to the wall in terms of accuracy...

    Locke body - $150
    Locke or Musikraft Neck - $300ish depending on options
    Pariah Pickup - $100
    Fender Trem - $60?
    Paints and finishing materials (grain filler, sealer, stain, etc.) - $100
    Tuners - $50?
    Pickguard - $30? I see guys on Facebook who sell proper pickguard replicas

    So more like $700-$800 for something that's pretty damned close to the original. $600 could get you close enough for the average bear.

    But don't forget about all the neato case candy

    Personally, I think the whole thing is disgusting.
    But you know, those FMIC marketing strategists would not build it, if they believed they wouldn't come.

    God shed His grace on thee
