Not so; I opened up this thread acknowledging that Sammy gets the nod in the NYC metropolitan area.

But I think Denver just likes Van Halen regardless of who is on the mic.

Fiddlers Green was full in a blizzard in 1995 when VH played here. It was full in 1998 for VHIII. Red Rocks was the only venue to sell out in 2015.

I don't think most people in Denver care who's singing.

    Of course we count.

We're the only knuckleheads that argue about a basically defunct rock band on an internet forum.

No one else gives a shit.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

LOL. Yeah, all ten of us.

VH doesn't think we count. So we don't.

    Sad but true.

We ARE the diehards, but all they care about is a demographic that happens to attend
    Classic Rock shows.
A mass of faceless numbers, who know the hits and have the funds to bask in nostalgia.

I think Eddie's message to the diehards was, Get a life!

    Prolly correct, looking back.

    Yup.

That's why they close with Jump.

    That's why there's no website.

That's why there's no fan communication or perks.

It's mainstream nostalgia marketing at this point, if anything ever happens again at all.

VH concerts are now more about the 80's than they are about VH. For the other twelve to fifteen thousand people in the building, anyway. And the tour managers know it.

In CT, the radio stations play more Roth era. As for concerts, both eras did well.

Since the band is Dave, Ed, Al and Wolf, um, that makes up the band no matter where anyone lives.

There are two classic rock stations in my locale. One leans Dave and the other Sammy. The one that leans Sammy has an annual "Vanuary" celebration. Both stations play both eras and Sammy solo. I have never heard anything from VHIII or ADKOT on either station. To summarize, Van Halen is Van Halen with Dave or Sammy in my area.

Well if we are to believe some ppl, in St Louis or Detroit, Sam would dominate.
Now here in LA, maybe Dave by default? In general VH enthusiasm is FAR from where it should be, considering the guys are from here.
