Default What was the first VH album you bought on release day?

I remember mine clearly. It was on my 16th birthday and it was “OU812”. I was VH obsessed. I had gotten into “5150” late ‘86 and started collecting all the albums soon after. Great days, great memories. I’ve gotten every album on release day ever since.
What is understood need not be discussed

"I am in a blissful state. Dont bug me!!!" - Richard Dreyfuss "The Goodbye girl" 1977

RHRN. Not really an album but it's the first VH release I bought the day it came out.

I wasnt a big VH fan until Runaround dropped and started getting radio play and was all over MTV.

Then I saw the Poundcake performance on the MTV video awards and went out and bought FUCK.

I was kind of late to the game as RHRN, Balance, and III were the only albums I bought on release day.

I'd like to say VHI but I was two years old...
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

    Balance I think.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

My mom surprised me when I got home from school with the OU812 cassette. I got FUCK, RHRN, Balance, III (limited tin edition), and ADKOT (cd/dvd version) when they came out.

I remember being the first one to get III at the now closed HMV, after waiting outside for it to open in the morning. I had spent the prior two weeks calling that special phone line, where you could hear snippets of certain tunes. Would love to see my mom's phone bill that month! Haha.

ADKOT. One of the most exciting days of my VH fandom. That album will always hold a special place in my heart.

ADKOT. Every version available. Also got Tattoo single when it dropped. I remember listening to my mp3 version for the first time and it started with She's the Woman, once it hit You and Your Blues I had goose bumps for the rest of the album.

My mom bought me Van Halen II on 8 Track the day it was released at Magic Mushroom in the long gone La Mirada Mall.
