Don't know if it's the "best", but my favs this year and they are all really good IMO:

Clutch - Book of Bad Decisions
    Slash - Living the Dream
    STP - STP
Black Label Society - Grimmest Hits
    Soulfly - Ritual
Black Stone Cherry - Family Tree

Black Stone Cherry is a criminally underrated band IMO.

The Nita Strauss record was just awful.

She can play pretty well, but she has no concept of writing a song or
    memorable melody.
    It's just no there.

    Judas Priest - Firepower.

I bought a ton of other albums this year but that may have been the only one that was released in 2018.

I'm enjoying Patina. Jake's tones are amazing.

Piss on her...I've seen Alice Cooper 7 times. The last 3 times she is there. She ruins the whole show, running around acting like a badass and squeeling the guitar.
I can out play that woman anytime, any day, anywhere and I only play 4 or 5 times a month anymore.....

She has awful tone & needs to pull back on the generic tricks.

I liked her with the Iron Maidens, but never thought of her as a "shredder" type, certainly
not enough to base a whole album on.

But after the rave reviews, i got the album, and it was unbelievably sterile and weak.
    Simply, no tunes.
And her soloing, which works more in a song/get in-get out, context, is not strong enough to
    carry instrumentals.
