That being said, ask the pro musicians if there's any guitarist who can go from the neo-classical shred stuff and switch to the bluesy stuff on a dime, they'll tell you it's Yngwie. Mickey Dee, Paul Gilbert, Derek Sheridian, John Petrucci, Joe Lynn Turner, etc., etc. They all cite Yngwie as the king of being able to swap styles on the fly, sometimes in the same phrase.
Seen him do that shit in the middle of a solo. The guy is just gifted.

He could only stop shredding for about 1 minute and then had to start again. That's not really how u should play the Blues. If you want to hear a shredder play the Blues well, listen to Gary Moore.

I thought he did a really nice job with that song. Not a typical Yngwie wankfest.

At the beginning, yes, but in the second half I don't think the song called for that kind of playing. Look at EVH playing "Apolitical Blues" - he's pretty restrained.

Um..he's not the first rock guy to let 'er rip during a blues jam and he won't be the last.

Yngwie sounds like a guy who started with Hendrix & Blackmore, and mastered that aspect
    of the Blues.
Like he nailed it completely, then had to move on.

But he plays that style so incredibly cleanly, almost like Joe Bonamassa, where
his hands are just so fast & clean.

I prefer a Sam Fish type, where she hangs onto notes & misses a few here & there.
I like some grit in there.

But Yngwie has an insane grasp on that style, where he could blow the doors off anyone
in a Blues jam, yet maybe turn off the purists.

I didn't think it was bad for the Swede The blues is a bit restrictive and honestly you have a ton of greats who have played it. You learn licks growing up and can emulate them. Then you develop what is your style (like Yngwie) and when you play it, that is going to come out. So he will be a bit busy.

Just like this version of Randy teaching one of his students of playing bass. I mean its just a lesson and obviously he wasn't thinking that somebody would be playing this in 2018. However at 1:08 you can hear him playing some traditional licks and as he goes on, he starts to just being Randy.

LOL. Imagine being some beginner student learning something so basic and then your teacher starts going off and you're just trying to figure out how to hold the bottom down.
