    I'm confused.
The Lakers want to deal the rest of the team for another 30 million player, but then what do they do for the rest of the roster?
Sign a bunch of G League guys?

Well then they have the exception contracts and then minimum salaries I guess. I get confused on how all this crap works now.

Agreed. They aren’t a contender. They had hopes to be.

Haven’t heard the latest on Horford. But if they’re in rebuilding mode I would understand if he left. He’d be a very nice piece for a contender.

And I will still take the Celtics where they are now vs the dumpster fire that is the Lakers ownership and front office. What a mess. Of course, who cares if they get a ring.

If I can remember correctly LA would basically have 3 max players and everybody else playing for the vet minimum. Since the Cavs were always over the cap, you have other options to help you sign a vet at over. I forgot what they are called but its really soft cap exceptions that can be used for trading. The Cavs were always trying to get these when trading to assist with being over. However I don't think LA had planned for anything like this so they don't have them in place.

I don't have a dog with LA or Boston but gotta say that at least LA has Lebron, AD and Klutch on their side. Boston only has "well we have all these young players and assets" but they have been saying that for 4 years. They squandered their opportunity. They have watched Toronto, Philly and Bucks pass them by. Brad Stevens has yet to do anything but reach the ECF yet lauded as the best coach ever.

With KD and Klay hurt..... Warriors need an infusion of young players. One late 1st rounder. Now they have Two 2nd rounders. Have to try and create a bench with a top heavy team.

They are again BUYING an additional draft pick. Cash $ is king.

    @wojespn

ESPN Sources: Golden State has acquired Atlanta’s No. 41 pick in tonight’s NBA Draft. The cost: $1.3M and a 2024 second-round pick. Atlanta moved No. 44 to Miami yesterday. Hawks have Nos. 8, 10, 17 and 35 tonight. Golden State has Nos. 28, 41 and 58.

Do the injuries to KD and Klay make it more or less likely that they will re-sign Boogie Cousins? I guess that mainly hinges on if KD and Klay both stay and what terms they agree to.

Also how much Owner Joe Lacob wants to go into the LUXURY TAX by going over the cap. When you sign your own players you can have some more flexibility if you have the extra Cash $$ to spend.

it gets complicated...... but if you got the $$.

With this exercise, they have a projected payroll of $168.8 million and a repeater luxury tax payment of $175 million for a combined $343.9 million in total expenses.

According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, he estimates the Warriors 2019-20 payroll and taxes at $380 million after filling out the rest of the roster. He also estimates that the total cost of keeping the core together over the next four years at $1.6 billion.

The word is that Hawks wanted to package the 2nd rounders to get a 4th first rounder, but that didn't pan out and so they sell off the 2nd rounders.

Atlanta has acquired New Orleans No. 4 pick in the draft for No. 8 and 17 and 35, league sources tell ESPN. Pelicans are sending Solomon Hill, No. 57 pick and a future second-round pick.

Atlanta is also sending a Cleveland heavily protected first-round pick in 2020 to the Pelicans, league sources tell ESPN.

Atlanta is pursuing Virginia's DeAndre Hunter with the No. 4 pick, league sources tell ESPN. Atlanta GM Travis Schlenk makes a big move in lottery second year in a row to get his man. Last year, it was Trae Young. This time, DeAndre Hunter.

It's part of a 3-way deal with the Lakers. In the reporting on this it turns out Pelinka knew about the trade date and was in on it.

The interviewer in the yellow dress has a nice figure.

I guess the word was true that Hunter is the Hawks target.

New Orleans has done a nice job moving a one year asset.
