Default If you live near Boston...

This guy was featured on WMFO Saturday, and he was just ripping on the guitar
    in the studio. BLAZING.

He 's on a label, name checked Samantha & Amanda Fish (Who knew Sam had a sister?),
was friends with Joe & Brad from Aerosmith, spoke of releasing his third album & how
big of an influence Eddie was.

In fact, he will be performing VHI & VHII in their entirety in Boston, this February.

I assumed this dude was like late 20's/30's, but then i went to his youtube channel,
    and he looks about twelve!

Regardless, the kid will be doing the first two VH albums in their entirety, with
the exact replica guitars, if you're in/near Boston.

Just an initial reaction; the kid can play, but the song seems week. Nothing about the vocals or song structure are that impressive. Kind of what I would imagined SRV sounded like the first song he wrote before his balls fully dropped. Hope he sticks with it. God knows we could use a new wave of guitar based rock...

    That was pretty weak.

    Just my opinion.

Yeah, he has a sort of awkward (look at the neck, all the time) kind of presence.

And the build up to the solo was a bit too long, and the solo itself ended in a very odd,
    anti climactic way.
Then the song just ends out of nowhere.

But i guess this kid is a big deal since he was 14/15.

I gotta say, on the radio, his in studio playing was just lethal, really good.
And he was super articulate describing early VH stuff & Aerosmith.
He seemed much older to me.

He's all Blues/rock now, but in this, he sounds like Yngwie:

Can't recall the club, but details are supposed to be posted soon on his site.

There's only one venue in Arlington I know of & it's the Regent Theater. Holds 500 people. Neat spot with good acoustics. Saw Kings X there a few years ago.

Funny enough, my first time there was seeing a The Who tribute band called Slip Kid - fronted by none other than Medford's own Gary Cherone.

On the radio, they just had him play unaccompanied & off the cuff, and i was really impressed.
It was almost Gary Moore shred/blues, with really good tone & wide vibrato.

But he kept mentioning Edward Van Halen, then they'd play "Little Dreamer."

When he said he was going to be doing the VH tribute, you could hear everyone got
interested in the studio & perked up.

Even the DJ who was next in line for the next show said, We gotta go to that.

People still love VH, i guess.
