Default What if Van Halen and Motley Crue merged?

Well it might have sounded a bit like this:

Pretty cool to hear Mike's backing vocals on a Motley Crue song!

You are depriving yourself. Just pause the video and read the comments. There is gold there:

did Vince clean out catering before this song?
Vince looks like he's ready to give birth any moment now.
BAND IS FANTASTIC, But is that MEAT LOAF ON VOCALS?
    Vince Meal!

I thought Vince sounded ok myself. But I never thought he sounded good in the first place so the bar is low.

I always liked Motley Crue - the original lineup.
Thought they had some good riffs and songs, well written lyrics, and material that has held up over time. A very solid career IMO.

Motley Crue was pure hair metal at it's worst. I didn't get the genre at the time although I do appreciate some tracks from various bands.

Crue shot their wad on SATD which I consider to be a masterpiece btw. Anything before or after? Garbage. Don't care about Dr Feelgood or Corabi. They shined for about a minute and were big. I'll give them that.

I just don't get how our age group was into VH/Zep etc and then embraced hair metal.

Thank God for Metallica and EVEN Grunge for killin' that shit.

By "merge" are you referring to the rumor that Vince has eaten both Eddie & Alex Van Halen?

I'm so shocked that mr hair metal himself responded to my post first. Lol.

    Mission accomplished.

    Really?

Maybe a regional thing? I definitely was and all of my friends were too.

But on a serious note...you're wrong. I was into VH, Zep, The Who etc before Crue.

The majority of people on this site were. Maybe not you.

Then you were into bands that weren't releasing any music. That's pretty rare. Most kids don't have a favourite band that didn't exist anymore. I'm sure there's a few kids right now who'd claim Nirvana is their favourite band, I'm guessing it's a short list though.
