The tour resumed on April 17, and from that point on Ed was wearing a shirt and progressively played better and better. They played Manchester on May 28th, it was the third to last show of the main tour. I've seen videos of Baltimore a few weeks before and Ed was doing great, it'd be weird if he was rough after that. But he was very much at the earliest stages of recovery then, so anything is possible.

Ed wasn't the problem. They (and in particular Roth) had technical problems throughout the show.

They did add a Denver show in February of 08 and that was the best VH show I've ever been to, so they made up for the ho hum KC one.

But it had its moments. We pre-partied at a couple bars and got a chuckle out of this guy wearing his 1984 tour shirt that fit him like a sausage casing.

My wife told me my head banging and dancing around during I'm The One scared the teenagers in our row. Well, they needed to get into it too! This wasnt some Brittany Spears or Justin Beiber show.

I saw the first two shows, Charlotte and Greensboro. Also saw them in 08 when they came back through in Raleigh.

I'd say the first two were much better than the last....by Raleigh, Dave had stopped singing as much and was clowning around more.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

I remember waiting for someone to upload the boot. Turns out, Charlottomic Punks may have been the best of them all. I loved hearing those songs played like they were supposed to be played. After 2004, I didn't know if that was possible.

It's amazing how much healthier Ed looked after the break. I believe that's when he finally won the battle.

Saw them a bunch of times on that tour. The first time seeing them in October in Philly on that tour was just emotionally overwhelming for me.To hear them performing some of those songs that they hadn't played in years was amazing. I was sitting just outside the circle on Ed's side. When Ed started the beginning of Atomic Punk... I have to admit I had a few tears rolling down my cheek. Never thought I would get to see them play some of the deep cuts with Dave again.

Thanks for posting that clip Brings back some great memories. I saw the show in Calgary on Dec 7, 2007 (The same day I officially joined here). It was a fantastic show. I remember Ed with the white Wolfgang being on top of his game, Dave was great.....I also recall the VH blimp taking a header and crashing into the stands behind the stage as well.....man, if we all could relive this experience.

My 07/08 show was definitely the best of the VHIV shows I have seen. Ed wasn't fully back yet, but that was the best version of DLR since 1988.

Such great memories for me. I flew from Australia to see them in LA and then went to see them in Fresno. It was also my first time to the USA. I've been back many times since.

I was at both Manchester shows and they were both decent from what I remember. I am a big fan of both Sam and Dave VH and I thought Dave was just barely able to get through the show vocally. Both shows run together for me but I seem to recall Dave bitching about the blowers on several occasions. One of my friends was an extra roadie in 2008 and he learned that Dave and the band never saw each other until they hit the stage.

I remember that in Manchester Dave stopped the show during Pretty Woman to break up a fight and he yelled at the guys fighting. That was kind of funny. The worst thing I felt about the 2012 show was that Dave started off sing decently. I remember looking at my friend and we both thought that maybe he was getting a handle on his vocals..... that is until DTNA came around. It's the first time I ever heard him sing that horrific melody in the verses and I looked around in sheer disbelief that Ed and Al would allow him to butcher that melody so bad. The guys in the band just plowed ahead like it was nothing but I was in shock that he changed such a nice basic melody into what he was doing. There was no need for it and Ed and Al should have shut that down after the first time. From that song after his voice got worse and worse. I never went to a 2015 show and from some of the ones I saw online Dave was horrible. It sucks because Eddie was sounding great in 2015. I mean there are shows where Dave outright stops the whole show mid song to yell at a monitor guy and he still sounds awful even after.

I had a theory that Ed and Al don't even have Dave's voice in their in-ear monitor mix. lol Ed just looks over smiling while playing and thinking- "yeah Dave, give 'em hell, that's the stuff" as he sings the new and improved DTNA. Remember, when the three of them performed at the sound checks they just came in on backing vocals at the right place without any lead singer present.
