Tom Petty was a solo artist in most people's minds, that's who everyone was there to see.

Weird, but I don't consider Tom Petty or Ozzy as solo artists. Technically they are (were) I guess.

For that reason I'll go with Billy Joel.

Of those, I went with Hendrix, but really it's either Buddy Rich or Billy Cobham.

I saw about 3/4 of those guys. I was too young to see Hendrix. Hard to imagine he opened for the Monkees. I almost saw Elvis in 76 but didn't. I remember saying I would catch him next time a round. My choice was Jimmy but I would take Ed,Rush, Scorpions, Rainbow or Zepp anyday. And yes Buddy Rich was one of the most fantastic concerts I ever saw too Jungle Drummer

Never saw the brothers with Duane and Oakley. Hard to believe they went on without them for 40 some years.

For me, I know this is sacrilegious but from Duane and Berry's death, to about '75, is the golden era for me.

The last time I saw Gregg was about when Derek Trucks joined the band. He covered the old stuff very well. I kept thinking he would have really been good with Dickey. But they went into some really weird stuff with saxaphone players and reggae type music and I walked out. Thats not what I go to see the Allman Bros to hear.

I know what you're talking about. I didn't like the saxophone shit either.

I went with Paul McCartney, but Elvis and Prince are right there with him.
