One thing no one has ever said about Sam, Dave and the bros is "they have absolutely no ego." Or "wow, they're so humble." Sam's not gonna start now at 71. He's a rock star, the old fashion way. And that's the way I like my rock stars!

He should call this album "Full Circle," if it's truly his final statement.

In almost ever way the guy is going out with everything, he's had an incredibly successful career,
yet you just know the VH/Brothers thing, the lack of a Grammy, are still gonna haunt him.
    Especially the VH thing.

He get's everything, except closure on that.

At one point, even i thought Sam would get his wish.
But unless VH are playing the long, long game...
    The door is long closed.

Ed and Al have nothing to do with the tequila. That work was done by Sammy Hagar

The part that jumped out at me was this: "That's my bucket list: to have one more credible musical experience in my life." What does he consider his last credible music experience? Kind of an odd self-aware, self-critical statement to make. Does it mean that he's coming out and saying--in his mind--he's made a lot of shit he's not proud of? Or maybe some kind of apology? He kind of sounds depressed.

    And a Grammy? Seriously?

    It's Sam.

All his millions can't buy him legendary status and THAT'S what he's always craved. He had a taste with VH but he was just the replacement. He collaborated with everybody chasing the dragon...he made a business empire but his most coveted goal was critical acclaim for his personal music.

He'll never be able to buy that and he knows it. He was in VH and it irks him that VH defines him, when he put so much into his solo career that nobody cares about.

Sam has also said he would like to be inducted in the RNRHOF again, in his own name, as a solo artist.

A long shot, to say the least. But that's why he's still active and hungry. This drive he's always had explains why he's still doing so much at his age.

A man who has it all and more and isn't content because he there's something he can't buy or genuinely earn, deserves nothing but my scorn.

This could be a joke or off the cuff remark but lobbying for a Grammy is pathetic to even memtion. No true artist does what they do, to try and win awards.

I'm actually glad now, that Sam will never step on stage with VH.

VH is just his ticket for elevation.

    After Roth quit and Sammy aptly took over, and 5150 was riding high;
Regarding Dave - " When we get nominated for a Grammy and win, I'm going to thank him!" - Eddie.
"There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.
"Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

Well what do you expect? Yes, they want glory. All of them.

I'm actually glad Sam has this ambitious goal - it's gonna push him to do better. When he's content, he can get a bit lazy with the lyrics, for example.

I think he means something that resonates beyond his core fan base. Even I'm astounded by some of the hardcore fans Sam has on FB, he could literally do anything and they would love him. He knows this and I think when he says something like this he means something that grabs people beyond that group.

CF would have been the obvious choice and I honestly don't know why he didn't work with Joe on something BUT they did say they were getting together in January so who knows?

the VH door is closed. Sam knows this despite what he might say from time to time I don't think he's dumb enough to think anything new will come from VH with him involved.
