    Default 5150 or Big Trouble....Go!

Both songs remain the masterpiece tracks of their respective, post
six pack/post CVH, debuts....and...also feature late in each platters
    song sequence...BUT....

Which one takes the crown, as the greatest composition of the two?

For me, this was really difficult.

5150 is the better album & a stellar tune, but Big Trouble is
Roth & Vai reaching the peak of their musical mountain.

    Dead even for me.

I'm voting Big Trouble. I've never actually connected with the tune 5150 that much. Big Trouble's got a great groove, fun deliveries from Dave, and some great playing from Vai.

Big Trouble is one of my favorite DLR solo tunes, but, you put it up against maybe the best song in the Mach II catalog. No contest, 5150.

5150 is about as perfect as any song can be written.

Big Trouble is a good enough (no pun intended) song, but as much as I respect Vai as a player, his tone has always sucked.

Ed will always be the king of tone to me. Even during the albums with production that sucked (5150/OU812), Ed's tone was still good at worst.

I'll argue that his tone sucked on both VHIII and ADKOT.

Jeez, I'm actually going to have to think on this one awhile. I'm leaning "5150" because of Ed and Al, but close.

    5150 by a country mile.

I love Vai, but he can't come up with rock riffs this subtle. He did great on EEAS considering he was outside his comfort zone. But here you're talking the King at the top of the mountain. Yoda-like levels of domination.

This is a tough one. 5150 is the Hagar era at its peak. Great song. Eddie's rhythm playing is incredible on it. Big Trouble isn't Roth's greatest song (even though I love it) but the guitar playing on it is ridiculous... The guitar solo is IMHO one of the best ever recorded.

    To hard to call....
