or were they "heavy metal hair" bands????

    What's the difference you ask?

One is a band that just reunited and played one of the most successful tours ever.

Are you guys sure GNR aren't Big Rock?
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Love both records. These were my introductions to both bands. The opening riff to ‘Sweet Child’ is still an all time hook, no matter how many million times I’ve heard it. Still grabs me when I hear it. Both bands have quite a bit in common with all the drama, decades of silence, minuscule musicial output, and band leaders that calls the shots, but does zero press, so you’re never in the loop as to what’s going on...both had partial reunions after pretty nasty splits.,.

Both are amazing albums and both in my favorite albums of all time, but I can definitely say that I've listened to 1984 a million times more than AFD. I just bought the new mastered version of AFD a month or 2 ago but I still haven't listened to it yet.

As awesome as AFD is, definitely 1984 for me.

Disagree completely. For however much people hate Dave and Wolf, Ed and Al still playing near the top of their games blows away anything any of the guys in Guns can do. And Axl is still a whiny bitch of a singer.

Guns and Roses had a few great songs and Slash is a really good player. But they are not worthy to touch the hem of Van Halen's garment. Not even close.

Who would have ever thought in the 1980's that GNR would be playing stadiums and VH would be playing sheds with Groupon discounts.

    Get real.

Axl Rose fronts GnR and AC/DC and crushes it. Roth doesnt.
We’re talking sold out stadiums versus Groupon filled lawns.

    GnR wins by landslide.

Well GNR was the biggest band in the world for a while so no it’s not that surprising. VH never had that status.
