Default Which album features EVH's best guitar playing?

I give the nod to Van Halen I (Surprise! ) with Fair Warning in 2nd place.

No. Ain't nobody got time for that.

If there is an existing one, feel free to merge it with this one.

Have at it. I look forward to reading you and Squalen's 2nd go around for the day, pitting VHI against FW.

I think I'll go shave my balls.

Good gawd, did you really go there?

Let it go, junior. It doesn't matter how many stupid votes and polls are taken here, there's only a dozen regular posters left in Main. You think that's gonna measure out the entirety of the music industry and the guitar arenas the world over? Even if Fair Warning wins, or VH1 wins, there just isn't enough people here to accurately sample either diehard or casual fan perception. That's also true of anything else, including the worldwide receptions of VH4, ADKOT, dual era fandom, Sammy, Dave, or what the fuck ever.

I can't believe you're actually this disjointed about it. Fair Warning is clearly the guitar player's album. You really are lost in the VH1 bubble. Ya know, I don't even think you like the rest of the discography. I bet you've barely spun WACF or FW in years. I bet you haven't even bothered to listen to Sam Halen since the 90s. I bet you have VH1 on continuous cycle all the live long day.

Find another outlet for your serotonin, choirboy.

Thank you! Coulda does this shit on purpose imo. He loves to start shitfests. He'll never admit though. I fucking guarantee you he hasn't spun any Hagar era VH either at home or on the way to work.

He's just mad we went light rounds earlier on FW vs. VH1 and I came out on top. But duh...it ain't me that wins that. It's FW.

I admittedly am busting his chops a little bit today. It's for his own good. He needs to listen to some Halen outside of the debut album, and Imma help him do that.

I keep Van Halen playing like elevator music all day through the speakers in the ceiling in my house. Used to just have it plugged in to an old iPod but I would wig out when some weird shit like Til Tuesday or Don Henley would come on and think I was at a dentists office or having an acid flashback.

You came out on top because Chris (who's favorite VH album is the debut ) decided to suck up to you today? Lol. He probably just wants to stay off your radar.

I've had WACF in my car CD player for the past week, but I don't listen to anything outside of the debut? Feel free to ask me an actual question about any song in the entire VH catalog. I know you dabble in writing, so you must specialize in fiction. Stop making stuff up, Squalen. You're better than that.

Haha. Listen to you on the run. Relax, man. I didn't come out on top. Fair Warning did. As it should, as it always will.

I'm not feeding your serotonin levels anymore than I already have. Starting this thread was a desperate move. I've told you a hundred times, there are more ways to start a thread than ranking, polling, or comparing. It's all been done. A billion times over. Think of something new please.

I can't even remember the last time I listened to VH. As great as WACF is, there is only so many times you can listen to In a Simple Rhyme before the magic wears off.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

I dont even listen to music in general, anymore. GVF being the exception. When I do, it's YouTube. Burnt out on my music and just can't stomach today's output.

I will say that those reaction videos that everybody says are "fake" blah blah have made me hear some of the old songs in a fresh way. Example, I'm really digging "Rooster" because of a reaction. I slept on that song when it originally came out but I liked it back then. Now? Brilliant. Those Staley vocals and that music.

From a few of the clips on here I might give that band The Struts a listen, but I've been digging into old catalogs of artists that were before my time. I have little interest in the music being put out now. I know, get off my lawn.

Yep, these days listening to a lot of alt and fusion. I did spin BOV1 a few weeks ago 'cause I wanted to listen to MWM, but the only time I listen to VH now is when they play a song on SirusXM.

VH is played out. Totally. Completely. Same is true for my other two fave bands, Rush and the Police.

The only thing left for VH is live play, or a new album.

Lol, I guess I haven't reached my limit, yet. I can't imagine the VH magic ever wearing off for me, especially WACF.
