What about the wrong sequencing of the verses on Runnin' With The Devil on The Greatest Hits Volume One?

"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"The truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth" - Todd Wagner

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

OMG! That's ANOTHER ONE I have to skip every time. It's exhausting listening to that CD.

Congrats 47 on some epic trolling. You had me laughing on this otherwise rough Friday morning.

LOL. 47, it sounds like you've heard some replies to this topic before.

I don't regret the 2004 tour because I saw a pretty sweet gig at Staples in Eddie's golden ring.

But the songs...yeah, they didn't hold up. IAT was the worst of them, UFB had potential with Ed's axe work, and LTS had a LOT of potential...but clearly they were all patchwork tracks.

Certainly starting a Sam Halen reunion off with a Greatest Hits package was an error in and of itself.

Up For Breakfast was a better song live.

The lyrics were lame. Hagar went the Poundcake route again and came up short. The background vox were weird also.

I swear, It's about time is a left over from VH 3 part 2. The only cohesive guitar song is Up for Breakfast because I have a guess it was a backing track from one of the songs of the 2000 session with Roth. Ed said in interviews he just noodled through the verses and did something a little different on both About Time and Learning to See. Learning to See is the only song I think was newest material for that session.

The best thing about this collection is the remastered Hagar era tracks which are not available elsewhere in the US.

I rearranged the playlist on it to chronological order. Switching singers back and forth is too much.
    Eddie Van Halen in 2012:

"ESQ: What are you going to do with all the material that you wrote with Sammy Hagar?

EVH: Oh, I hadn't thought about that. That's some great music. They're just on vacation, maybe. They're off to college and they're going their own way. Who knows?"

I did the same, then I deleted the Roth era songs.

I have some time next week, if you want to discuss it.
