I've had the Goldenwest Ballroom '76 show on cd since the late 90's. It's an actual pressed cd (not cd-r) with folding glossy insert and some rare early shots. The tunes are ripping and Ed's early version of Eruption is insane!!! All without tapping, just left hands wizardry all over the neck... Devastating licks.
That's a cool one to have, for sure, but I don't think CDs are actually pressed...they're digital dude

It seems like most of the licks he used back then, would eventually be used on subsequent future albums.
    They're like deja vu...

I was listening to it, and playing Name That Lick, in my head.

And that breakdown in STW sounds awfully familiar

Ha! Yeah, wrong wording. Yet the cd is a 'real' one with silver underside and not the slightly colored versions you normally see on the recordable/re-writeable discs.

I can't recall that part in STW off the top of my head, yet do agree about hearing all the parts on various bootlegs that would show up on future albums. Kind of neat to hear the early versions and the later finished products.

The breakdown in the She's The Woman demo became the breakdown in Mean Street.

Right. Surprised I didn't remember that at first.

I'll bet as the song was playing, someone over the intercom yelled:

They should just lose the "Ozzy" part. It was the Boneyard originally, I think.

Ha, yeah, I guess some might see it that way.
Change it to the Deep Cut Depot, or something.

Amen. That’s jaw dropping stuff. Nobody was in the same universe as him at that time. Even since, a lot of skilled players but few originals who took the world by storm like this. Take Page for instance. Amazing player, but IMO doesn’t hold a candle to Eddie in him prime.

I think Page's greatness is more as a composer/writer/producer than his actual playing ability, which was pretty hit/miss live.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

    Agreed.
Page is well known and respected more for the compositions and arrangements than his technical prowess, although I do think he was a mighty fine, and cool, player.

What makes Eddie so legendary is his technical prowess + his ability to write great songs.

Was reading a thing with Doug Aldrich in GW & he says:

We got to see Eddie in his prime as teenagers, and i thought there could be no one better...
    Then we see Randy Rhoads.
