Ed was doing some fast picking scales, when he was unplugged.
His right hand looks so interesting when he does that kinda thing.

Man of ALL the things I miss from growing up - one of the biggest is the concert experience before fucking cellphones and ipads and shit. When I was 10th row on 2015, there were dicks holding up ipads filming the entire show, and people all around me on facebook. I never stopped jumping up and down for 2 hours straight.

This was my first REAL concert I went to when I was 15. My dad drove me and some friends there. One of my fav memories of him. It was wild, people throwing beer bottles from the parking decks and shit. 90 degrees at nite. Iron fucking Maiden in our little bullshit town was like the most amazing thing that ever happened.

I was up front all nite getting squashed by people but was in heaven... LOOK at this fucking crowd man... It was like this for the ENTIRE show. Man I miss those days...

This show changed my life forever. It was how I imagined my older brothers felt seeing Zeppelin at MSG. I think it was also the last time I cut my hair until I graduated in 1991, lol.

VH at the Meadowlands in 1991 was a game changer too, esp with AIC opening - but general admission is entirely different experience.

11:27 - "...these are just backups, in case he breaks a neck or whatever..." Breaks a neck?!?

12:53 - Well, we certainly know what night that "one broken string during the 5150 tour" happened, don't we, Zeke...

Good stuff. My favorite Sam era tour. The playing, the stage setup, Al's monster 3 kits in 1, "5150" and Summer Nights still in the set.

Tokyo Dome '88 was the first full concert of the band's that I'd ever seen, so this era has a special place in my heart. Thanks for posting!

So awesome. Can’t believe I’ve never seen this.
    Eddie Van Halen in 2012:

"ESQ: What are you going to do with all the material that you wrote with Sammy Hagar?

EVH: Oh, I hadn't thought about that. That's some great music. They're just on vacation, maybe. They're off to college and they're going their own way. Who knows?"

It looks like that's where Sammy's pics from the LRHRN album sleeve came from.

And that lighting director looks like Martin Tupper. Remember that guy?

    Amazing footage!
And those shots of Eddie on the couch, jamming those wide stretch licks? Look at the smile and glint in his eyes... He was truly happy back then!

And that action looks super low, like the strings are painted on...

I love when Eddie says that his playing is less flashy because he’s more focused on serving the song.

OU812 is amazing imo and definitely had some of Eddie’s finest moments.
