    So true!

The singer always reminded me of Kinison in a thrash band.
I used to say that back then.

I love "She's So Cold" - those are the kinds of songs I like best from the Rolling Stones - that bouncing bass, Keef and Ron trading licks and Charlie holding it all together.

They had some great energy with the later stuff, but Brown Sugar, Bitch, All Down The Line, Rocks Off, Rip This Joint...some good energy there as well.

Those records are full of hits, too. Probably at least 15 classic Stones tunes on those records.

The Stones from '69-74 was like VH's '78-84 run. It was the pinnacle and they could do no wrong. In the eyes of most fans anyway.
I love Let It Bleed. Sticky Fingers has some great songs - "Brown Sugar", "Bitch", "Dead Flowers", but then it has downer stuff like "Sister Morphine". Not that crazy about "You Gotta Move". "I Got The Blues" - another downer. I'm over "Wild Horses" (thanks, Allen B. Klein). Exile On Main Street has too much filler.

Don't know how you guys can listen to that thrash stuff.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

I love thrash to this day.

It was so rhythmic & muted, the palm mutes...
It really had groove to it, with the right hand chunk.

Even a slightly more melodic take on it, Madhouse by Anthrax, or Medusa, those
fucking palm muted downstrokes are so rhythmic & tight.

    It's not noise, it's precision.
Punk is a bit nosier & loose, but thrash has groove & tightness.

Dude, I've been on a Madhouse kick lately! Yes, I'll always love thrash and some of the newer generation are good too. Throwbacks to old school. One of my faves from England.

I finished high school in 1983, actually I finished all school in 1983. Most of my high schooling was done in the UK.

    Thin Lizzy - Chinatown
    Rush - 2112
    Frank Zappa - Overnight Sensation
    Van Halen
    Whitesnake - Lovehunter

It took me a long time to get thrash. I remember when it first hit, we'd go to the local import record shop in Melbourne to buy the latest Gary Moore or Triumph album, and they'd have Metallica playing. I just couldn't get past the vocals and terrible production on those early thrash albums. I've seen all of the big 4 and a few others, and I still don't like Slayer at all, but have time for Megadeth and Anthrax. Metallica, while I understand their place in history, just don't do it for me. A few songs here and there are cool, but I think Mustaine wrote better songs, is a better player and surrounded himself with better players, than what Metallica offered. This is all in hindsight obviously, as at the time I didn't like any of it. It wasn't until I got hooked on Images and Words by Dream Theater and then read about their love of thrash, that I went back and revisited some of it. I doubt there'd be a thrash album in my top 50, maybe even 100.

I was captivated with thrash from an early age. 13 or 114? I remember I had the radio on one day and Piranha by Exodus came on. I had no idea what thrash was or what this sound was but I was intrigued. Immediately hit record on the cassette.

Ha, yeah, those were serious times. They were all going thru stuff and it wasn't happy.
Sister Morphine, when Charlie kicks in....Moonlight Mile...

A lot of that filler on Exile is classic, though.

Sweet Virginia, Torn and Frayed, Soul Survivor, Loving Cup, Shine A Light....Stones heaven.

I love She's so Cold, too. Great energy on the '81 tour as well.

Not a huge thrash fan but there are some tunes I crank to 11 sometimes. Madhouse being one.
