Yeah, there's a lot of behind the scenes on this thing here:

    I still havenít watched it.

But I usually agree with a lot of what Eddie Trunk says about Van Halen.

Sounds like the VH clan are just bitching.

Do you agree with Eddie Trunk when he says that the first 4 Van Halen albums are basically flawless? I do.

So they had a 4 pack?

Yes I do and I also agree with him that Van Halen were a better live band with Sammy Hagar.

Fair enough. Did you see them live with both Dave and Sam?

They had a total of 3 of them. Each one better than it's successor.

On a whole it really wasn't horrible. Too many reenactments, though. The Beatles episode didn't have that many.

    That part was hilarious.

It would be hard to get a quality documentarian to do something without an angle or story arc of some kind. For better or worse, the obvious angle for a VH doc is the rotating cast of singers.
I think it can be dun without an hour devoted to the drama. Not saying you ignore it but put in the back where it belongs.
I see docs all the time on AXS TV. Just about any band you can think of has one.
Most of those have very little story arc. It just a history of the band. The Stones have like ten of these.

In VH's case, them talkin' how they met, club days, early tours, 70's festivals, US Festival, studio recordings, MTV, Ed's impact...

You do a Sam one and Dave one. Two hour shows. All the members interviewed, other musicians interviewed, the tunes, great old footage....THIS WOULD BE AWESOME!

They shoulda did one decades ago.

    9:50 to 10:20 I get dead air.

IDK, if I was him I would want to know what kind of show it's going to be before I do it. Of course there were going to be reenactments. That's standard procedure, nowadays. Don't know why he's so surprised.

    Just a technical glitch.
It picks up from the exact point after the dead air.

Ha, I thought it sounded like I didn't miss much. That dead air confused me.
