Default Would you welcome a new singer at this point?

I've read a couple comments while perusing VH related articles and posts lately that have led me to this question. Basically, at this point in their career and lack of activity would you welcome a 4th (5th if you count Mitch, which I hope you don't) singer in the band? And if so, who would ya like? This of course assuming they would become more active and do some touring and/or new music.

For me, if it was someone who could do justice to both eras but not look like a clone or YouTube karaoke singer, I would gladly welcome it. There's not much else they can do to piss on their legacy at this point.

    P.S. Not Myles Kennedy.

No thank you. Unless it was just Ed, Al, and Wolf going out as The Three Twins playing completely new, non VH music. That I would be interested in. But definitely not interested in VH hiring a good karaoke singer to do Dave and Sam.

I think I would be ok with it. Just start a new band. Might be interesting.

The solo record was already done, didn't work.

At these guys stage I think learning an entire new way to write and interact is something any are interested in. For all the issues and all the years they know all of each others shit. Dealing w new shit is not in the cards.

I'd listen and judge accordingly in the hypothetical but reality not happening.

If it meant all that good stuff, I think I would. It would have to be somebody unique though.

P.S. And I concur with the "not Myles Kennedy!"

I would welcome a new singer - however, I think the best solution would be to use an 'unknown' guy/gal, discovered in the underground.

At this point, they'd be looking for a unicorn. This person would have to exude their own style, yet could swing both eras of music, all while including his/her own 'element' into the new stuff and own it. In other words, they'd have to have HUGE personality, big enough that people could easily see them doing solo stuff without any problem.

In all honesty, I'd just love for VH to become relevant again to today's generation who are growing up on a steady diet of crap. But I don't think Ed really 'pushes' himself artistically enough these days to do that - he plays what he plays, he is what he is - and it's painful because he can be such an innovator.

There's a local VH tribute band around here called The Best of Both Worlds. They play, yup, Dave and Sammy covers. I've seen some of the vids and they are pretty darned good!

It can be done if Eddie wanted it to be so... There's a TON of talent out there if the remaining three know Roth is shot and still want to ignore Sammy.

Nah. There's only so much that can happen before it's just over. A new singer would bring everything to a sudden stop from which there would be no return. Just retire the brand and move on to something else.

Besides, Dave sounded fine at that charity event last month singing in his proper register. Idiots can wish his voice to be "shot" all they want. Some of them are only in it for Ed anyway, so it really shouldn't matter to them who is singing, since it's "all about Ed."

No, no desire fir a new singer, there isnít enough of a Rock audience, itís been proven Ed needs someone aggressive to write with and it this point it would just turn them into a punchline

Way to pussify up another thread with cheap shots against me, JD.
Gawd, you really are a whiny little bitch!!!! Back away from the internet and play with the baby. You know, the one who probably whines less than you?

A thread was started and some have opined in it. Pretty simple concept...
Not everyone agrees or cares about your Roth fetish. Again, pretty simple concept for most adults.

Even in a thread about an imaginary 4th singer it still ends with throwing pooh about Sam and Dave, only Van Halen
