Pete Thorn has a fantastic haircut. As far as the pedal... ehh… Sounds kinda cool but I don't see it as something I would ever really use. Seems like a 1 trick pony. Sort of an untweakable chorus. And it will probably be like $150 or some ridiculous shit.

    And dude just slayed Cathedral...

Yeah no interest in it either. I have an MXR Micro Chorus and for how much I need it, it sounds great.

Sounds great with the clean sound. No doubt about that.
As said, though, it just does one thing. Hard to justify shelling out big bucks for it.

    $200.

I think it really sounds great, but the price:utility and space:utility ratios are awful. And for those reasons, I'm out. /sharktank

According to the MXR Rep in the Premier Guitar video the pedal is based on the Roland DC-30

$200 for that pedal is insane. I know its EVH and all, but still.... I've had a bunch of chorus pedals but I always end up selling them. The pedal market has really gotten out of control lately. I have sold all mine except the NS2 noise gate, BF-3 Flanger, and Phase 90. I try to get all my tone from my Carvin head. Pedals always frustrated me. Plus on the rare occasion we can gig anymore, you have like 5 minutes to set up and teardown between bands, so less is more. I saw a dude once that came on after us and his pedal board was literally like 3ft x 2ft and every square inch was covered.

Too bad it’s also pretty giant. Would be fun to experiment with, but I’d never commit that much space to a chorus pedal on my board.
Even worse. Pete Thorn can make a far in a cardboard box sound heavenly.

It seems to me like this is more a chorus/stereo di signal split for recording

Same here. I don't understand why so many people dog Diver Down. I freakin' LOVE that album...and the guitar tone. I think the tone on that album is fantastic...

FYI, today we got the new EVH Chorus Pedal IN STOCK at Van Halen Store, and from looking around online, it appears that VH Store is the only retailer who has them.

However, Dunlop couldn’t get us many of them … just a couple boxes … and I think we’ll be sold out by noon Friday (Aug 3rd). If you happen to miss it when it’s in stock, you can pre-order it.

Check on our stock, or order it here.
