My good friend went and saw the Atomic Punks last night at the Anaheim HOB (I was supposed to go with him but it sold out) and Michael Anthony joined the band for almost the entire set!

He told me Joe played the first four songs and then Michael took over. He said it looked like he was having the time of his life. He said the crowd was going nuts! He also said he could hear a significant difference with Michael singing all the background stuff.

I'm pissed I missed it . I would be interested in hearing your reviews if you were there. Also, if anyone has audio (or video) of the show, please share!

And I understand that Tim is going to dub the "soundboard" recording to some "spectacular" video that he and brett took of the event. This is (havn't said this word in a long time) "Rad". lol

That is fucking awesome! Mike probably hasn't had that much fun in years with all the shit between Eddie, Dave and Sammy. Joe does pretty good on the backing vox from what I remember. Saw them do Light Up The Sky at the Troub and Joe was nailing the high harmony Mike does

Yeah, The place went nuts when Mike came out on stage.

Here's my post from the other thread:

Then they also played with Mike: "Hot For Teacher," "Somebody Get Me A Doctor," "You Really Got Me," "Panama," "Light Up The Sky," "On Fire," and "Bottoms Up," and probably one or two more songs that I'm forgetting right now.

Brett and Top Timmy were on-stage shooting some video.

I caught up with Wolfman and Fab Shadow after the show and met Jenn from The Atomic Punks' discussion board.

It was pretty damn surreal, I'll tell you that. There is a pic of Tim, Mike and I that I have to get Albert to put up. All the video I shot was from behind Mike, so I got the crowd and of course when he turned around. The place was nuts, it was packed to the rafters, unbelievable. I thought it was funny that when Mike came back the second time to jam, they wanted to play "I'm The One," but Mikey couldn't remember it. LOL!

Incredible night, I wish all of you could have been there.

I was there and it was awesome! So Mike is the reason that I didn't get to hear I'm The One? Hey, at least he remembered the intricate bass line to Runnin'With The Devil!

Brett, I saw you a few times backstage on Mike's side. I was in the middle of the bottom level behind the sound board. I ran into Fab and Wolf after AC/DShe's set and chatted with them for about 15 minutes. They're cool peeps.

When Mike first came out on stage with the Punks, some genius next to me asked, "You do know who that is playing bass, don't you?" I'm like, "No. Please enlighten me, Einstein."

Unfortunatlly, I live in NJ, so I don't get to see all these cool shows. However, I happend to try Dugan on his cell, and all I could hear was a lot of loud ass music, a crazy crowd, and Kevin telling me (barely audible) " I'm at the House of blues with Michael, Call me back tomorrow, I can't hear you." When I talked with him today he said to check Mike's website, I think there will be pics posted from the show. I checked but they're not up yet, but I guess they will be soon.
Wish I could have been there! I'll get out there one of these days.... I hope! Later...

Coulda - where were you, I looked for a dude in a Cleveland Indians hat. Yeah for that last tune they were going through all the albums to figure one out and Mike said how about "On Fire?" That song was his idea. It was also cool they did "Light Up The Sky," that is rare.

Pumpkin - We're going to have tons of shit up on the Punks site, but we have a few things up right now on the board and the front page. We got the whole thing on video from 3 different angles.

    Brett,

After I talked with Fab and Wolf I was walking down the stairs to the bottom level. The Punks ripped into Romeo Delight before I even got down to the floor. It was way too packed so I didn't even try to get up front to my usual spot. I hung out with my buddies at the back of the bottom level.

I ran into the lead singer from AC/DShee right as Mike joined the Punks. She was very friendly and thought it was pretty cool that an original member of the Mighty VH would take the stage with a tribute band. Last night was a blast. The Punks rule!

    P.S. Where's Sacto?
