Hello all,

It has been a while since I the Justin Timberlake of the Van Halen Links has posted but I just gotta say a few things...

1) Sam and Dave, the argument will rage for ever, at least they put together a final show for VH fans that brought us back to the 70's and 80's and even early 90's for what I believe is the last time.. I saw one show at Alpine Valley and drank a lot and ever for a second in the afterglow of that evening, you could almost see the original lineups either dave or sammy halen up on that stage. I Believe that will never happen again.
Thanks guys, I don't need annother fix!!

2) A couple of Kurt Cobain comments.. why does everyone blast on that guy on this page... Hello..music has evolved past the 70-90's and he helped to change it..in fact the only band that I can stand anymore which is still producing music from the grunge era is the FOO FIGHTERS thanks to Dave Grohl, take a listen Halen fans you might be surprised by what you see in the power from his band... again just my opinion.

and lastly... Van Halen is done... the best thing for Eddie and Alex to do is try somthing different.. I don't want to hear any more bad laundry about singers or breakups, nor do I want to see this crap someday on VH-1 behind the music like Motley Crue or other bands. If Eddie and Alex do anything, please let it be somthing different than what once resemebled Van Halen. This way the legacy that was a great rock band will be preserved and not tarnished further by the reunion tours and all the crap other bands from their era has done...plain and simple JUST MAKE IT STOP and do somthing new and forget the past. -Hear about it later.
You can try me at home if it feels alright, hear about it later

It's kinda like Michael Jordan....He missed a dunk the other night....He's clearly past his prime and now he's just hurting himself...Make syou wonder with the cancer....The divorce....The hip....Alex's neck...Would it / could it even be the same or would we all just look up at em and say...Damn that's sad....

I don't know - maybe they're totally capable of
doing it again....

N'Halen, I think the point of these boards is lost on you. While you might be right with regard to Van Halen being finished, this board exists for fans of all eras to debate and discuss the possibilities. And as fans of the band and participants on this board, discussion of Ed and Al doing anything but Van Halen is contrary to our hopes for this band. As for Cobain, Nirvana had its run and made its contribution...in my opinion, it is a contribution that is vastly over-rated by most of the people that choose to discuss it. That's my opinion anyway. Either way, this isn't a Nirvana board so that's about all I have to say about that.

Van Halen is finished... true and not true... Let's count the ways...?

Van Halen w/DLR 1976-1985 = Finished
Van Halen w/SH 1985-1996 = Finished
Van Halen w/DLR Revisited 1996 = Finished
Van Halen w/GC 1996-1999 = Finished
Van Halen w/??? 1999-2002 = Status Unknown
Van Halen 2002-???? = Not started

So let's sumarize:

6 eras
4 finished
1 unknown
1 not started

Van Halen = 66.7% Finished; 16.7% Unknown and 16.6% Not Started.

Result = Van Halen is mostly finished but they ain't done yet!!! Statistically speaking that is...

Dunno Sean,
gotta go with N'Halen on this one.
Any reconvening of old lineups is most
likely doomed to disappoint. It's a golden
opportunity for the bros. to come out
swinging with some fresh/new ideas
on an old theme.
Don't presume to speak for everyone on
this board and what there wishes might be.
As for Cobain, I dug Nirvana at the time
and the Foo Fighters are the most consistently
satistisfying hard pop since Cheap Trick,
and possibly VH, for that matter.
I would go so far as to say Nirvana were good,
not great, and the deity staus placed on Cobain does indeed get tiresome.

mistere, I can see a reunion with one or both of the first two singers being a critical disappointment but not a commercial disappointment and certainly not a disappointment to most of the people that post on this board. That was really my whole point. Even if it disappoints, I believe most here would rather see a disappointing reunion effort rather than none at all. Don't get me wrong, though...I think it would be GREAT if Ed and Al did other things. The more music the better I think. But, it would be hollow without VH.
