Iíd rather listen to a chainsaw, a broken lawnmower or Daveís last 5 awful solo albums than anything Springsuck ever recorded. Actually Iíd rather listen to nothing. Snow on the tv would be more enjoyable.

And any list that would put anything KISS recorded in the 80s (let alone at all) on it, immediately loses all credibility. Might as well just put Poison and Trixter on there.

Newsflash: Roth's solo career was a joke after Skyscraper. I can't recall a frontman of his stature ever falling so far down the ladder. In terms of the public consciousness, not his hardcore fans, it was "Where Are The Now" time. Part of this was clinging to that spandex and bleached blonde hair for far too long. It took him forever to change his former image. Yes, Sam played ribfests too BUT the difference being imo, is that Sam never became the butt of a joke. Cool. You roped me into another Sam v Dave. Job done.

Why insult Trixter by comparing them to KISS?

Well Springsteen never had to play the casino or Ribfest circuit and doesnít have to masquerade as Jimmy Buffett late in his career.

Dave played rib fest. Dave played casino's. In fact he actually had an act in Vegas that was God awful.
His solo career went to shit after skyscraper like Chris said, he failed in Vegas, he failed on the radio,
Sam dresses like Jimmy buffet? Whatever, he's laughing all the way to the bank. He's got restaurants, his rrum, his new tequila, he's got a radio show and a TV show and he's always got a smile on his face.
You're hatred for Sam is eating you alive.

And while I preferred the sound and attitude of the classic era better I was ok with him growing up. I just thought the original band was lightning in a bottle and thought of it as two different bands with different vibes. But post 2004 every time he did an interview he was crapping on Van Halen and making crap up out of thin air like in his book he said he was just as big as VH in the early 80s, I lost any respect I had left for the guy. Most people I know of think of VH as two separate bands, some three if you count Cherone. When I look both of their solo careers I look at number of albums sold and the numbers are a closer than youíd think given how much longer of a solo career had. Hagar was 2-for-18 in Platinum certified albums while Roth was 3-for-7. Yes, people will say Hagar had a longer solo career but seemed with Roth you got more bang for the buck or quality over quantity. I just think these lists makes it laughable for the people on here and other internet sites that say Rothís solo career was a joke.

Lying once again to bolster your weirdo Sammy slag sessions. Most people you know do not think of VH as two bands. You do. Most people you know have forgotten VH.

Bang for buck? Yeah, that Vegas run was about as bad as it gets for any member of VH. Check the footage.

Sammy is no more or less guilty of running his mouth than Dave or Ed. Who cares. Did you even see Dave Halen back in the day? No? Didnít think so.

Seriously dude...you think about Sammy too much. Itís kind of embarrassing.

I couldn't care less who likes or dislikes Sam, he's put out stuff I don't like over the last few years.
When someone goes out of their way to try to diminish or dismiss the simple fact that the guy has been successful on so many levels they should be called out.

    In my opinion Sammyís best
    All 4 VH albums
    Montrose
    Standing Hampton
And about 10 great hits throughout various solo albums
    Chickenfoot 1st album

His still playing and getting paid to do so, numerous businesses, thatís success

    Daveís Best
    All 7 VH albums
    EEAS
And about 5 or 6 one off songs
His still getting paid to play music assuming VH isnít done
    Dave is also a success

They are both success, not difficult to see

They are completely different and only have VH in common and both fronted very different VHs
That said, no matter how much you hate Dave or the current version, I donít think Chickenfoot rates against anything that has Ed and Al playing on it barring III

To me this is the best thing Sam has done outside of Van Halen.

†"He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal" -Camille Paglia on Donald Trump

"But, fucking with Brook is like fucking with hot shit on and ax handle. You just don't get a grip"-track5

"Make way for the bad guy"- Tony Montana

'This hamburger don't need no helper"- David Lee Roth

"I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

"My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

"But being number one doesnít really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen
