How many 'youngins' are out there that like VH? I'll be 18 two weeks from yesterday and I was wondering how alone/not alone I am. I know that Maya(Lead Synth) is 18 or so, but that's all I know of so far

Man that is great! I'm glad to see our youth of today not waisting their time listening to crap all day long. You guys are gonna need to carry the flame for years to come. Just curious guys, what was your first Van Halen record? Out.

Yeah, all of my friends listen to rap(which I don't consider music) and want nothing but thumps and bass. I like bass, especially since Mikey is my fav. VH member, but I like enough to keep the ryhthm. That's all. And first VH album was For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. I like VH1, VH2 and Balance the best now, though Judgement Day was my fav. song for a while. Now I'm The One and Atomic Punk are my 2 tops

    I'm 19.

First VH album, the mighty 1984, who could not love that album ??

I started off loving Van Hagar of course, then when i hit around 15-16, started digging back and discovered the gems that are VH1 and Fair Warning...

I absolutely love every VH album 'cept VH3, Balance and Diver Down..Peace

    I'm 18, 19 in September.

My first album was Diver Down. I heard "Dancin' in the Streets" on a classic rock station when I was about 13, and I thought it was pretty cool because I was (am) a big fan of MoTown. I'd only heard the name Van Halen in passing, and I didn't really know anything about them. I bought the album, and I loved it, but didn't know that they had any other albums out. I then saw "Jump" the music video, and I asked my Dad "Who is that?", and he said Van Halen. I knew that I heard that song before, so I went out and bought 1984, and fell in love with that. Then I was watching the MTV music video awards and they were showing the past winning videos and one of them was "Right Now", so at that precise moment, I knew that this band was a little bigger than I knew. I then bought F.U.C.K and every previous album that I could.

I guess being a newer fan made me a little more tolerant of the other areas, and I am able to love them all equally. Sue me . I'm in the process of getting all of Dave and Sammy's solo album's, and I want to thank Van Halen for making their "mistake" with Gary because that introduced me to me 2nd favorite band: Extreme.

    Van Halen forever!!!

I love seeing younger fans on this site. For some of us older guys, I know we were like probably 11 or 12 when we got into VH because the music scene was different back then.

I didn't know that Red-Balled Mammoth and crashnjump were 18.

Or that Vic Vega and bizzatch were 19.

This is great to see, man.

Being 21, I'm thrilled to see so many young peeps that love VH.

    We need more.

well, now i know why NOaverageJOE sticks around the ebas thread in mp/nm. i do too, since i'm only 16, 17 in november. my first album was bov1, but i've been keeping my ears on the radio for any van halen i could find. now i've got all the albums (except 3) and i'm working on getting the dlr solo stuff when i can find it. anyway, don't think that i don't know my shit about vh, because i've studied it religiously since i stumbled onto this place in february.
and i don't really like any of the music today, so i'm glad i found some of you folks to converse with.

DownInFlames didn't know I was 18 almost? I figured no one on here knew I existed at all! laner sure it the jackpot about being able to talk on here! Right on! People around here know me for the music I like (VH). They always tell me if they've heard stuff of theirs or seen videos. It's nice to have a place on the web to share this stuff VH probably has more fan sites that any other band. Think about it, of all I've seen, there has to be thousands at least. Wonder how many young people have sites.

well red-balled mammoth, i was definitley amazed at the amount of fan sites van halen has. then i stumbled on to beatlelinks, when i was on here while the server was down, and there is a whole lot more sites there!!!! oh well, van halen is still around to make music, while the beatles are unfortunately no longer able to.
but age is not of importance here, van halen is.
footnote: at atomic drunks, there is no legal drinking age. head over there at meeting place (nm)
