That still doesn't explain the band publicly bashing AC/DC's music.
Ed STFU and don't make it about you.
    What bashing?

Ed was positively gushing over AC/DC performing way back, on Day on the Green.
Then in a recent Guitar World he gave high praise to Angus, saying he was one of the
best Blues guitarists out there, now.

I remember thinking that comment was a little over the top, but Ed meant it.

So if I just come out and say that Dave and the Van Halen Family play the same song over and over on each album you'd take it as a compliment?
Sorry dude that was them disrespecting AC/DC's music, lets not play Helen Keller.

Eddie has mentioned being nervous having to follow AC/DC onstage because their music was so powerful. He also said something like "Yeah, they play the same song over and over, but it's a great song!"

I didn't take those remarks as an insult. And Angus even poked fun at themselves by saying something like "People accuse us of having put out the same record 10 times... That's a lie, we've actually put out the same album 11 times!"

It's a common joke, hell, even Angus makes the same joke. And it's true to a large degree.

Ed likes AC/DC, you don't write songs trying to sound like a band you don't like.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Seriously, are you really this ignorant about Ed's love of AC/DC or are you just being intentionally obtuse because you have a hardon for Ed because he doesn't want to be besties with your boy Sam?

I'm sorry, but when did Ed bash AC/DC? They toured together in 1984 and from all accounts Malcolm and Eddie got along very well.

As for the music, a couple of years ago Ed was asked what his favorite riffs were of all-time and he named AC/DC's "Down Payment Blues" as one, and that it was also one of his "all-time favorite songs".

It's already been noted he wrote Panama as an interpretation of Malcolm's playing. Drop Dead Legs was also inspired by Malcolm (a jazzy Back in Black specifically).

One time recently he said that their riffs were 'simple', but in context of praising him -- after being asked who he and Wolf listen to most when at home, they said AC/DC, and Ed then said "Thatís our band. Itís simple stuff, three chords, but so great. Malcolm is the riff master.Ē

Bash? Sounds like it might be one of his all-time favorite musicians.

I never heard Eddie say that and never saw the quote written anywhere, so I guess it's easy to feel like Helen Keller when a comment is fabricated.

    He didn't.

Let's just move on before we have twenty pages about how Ed hates AC/DC arguments.
