This ain’t pretty, let’s see how it unfolds.
I forgot to add that the guy is also related to Adnan Khashoggi the famous arms dealer who died in 2017. There's a Van Halen connection to this. Back in the eighties Dave had enough of Sting's political world peace musings and called him out for partying with Khashoggi on his yacht. Can't remember the exact details of what lead to that.

    Of course they killed him.

Man linked to Saudi prince entered consulate just before Khashoggi vanished

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/khasho...list-1.4867883

A man who previously travelled with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's entourage to the United States entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul just before writer Jamal Khashoggi vanished there, according to images published Thursday by a pro-government Turkish newspaper.

The Sabah newspaper's report showed the man later outside the Saudi consul general's home, checking out of a Turkish hotel as a large suitcase stood by his side and leaving Turkey on Oct. 2.

The report came as Turkish crime scene investigators finished an overnight search of both the consul general's residence and a second search of the consulate itself amid Ankara's fears that Saudi authorities had Khashoggi killed and dismembered inside the diplomatic mission in Istanbul.

Saudi Arabia, which initially called the allegations "baseless," has not responded to repeated requests for comment from The Associated Press over recent days, including on Thursday.

The Sabah report showed the man walking past police barricades at the consulate at 9:55 a.m. with several men trailing behind him. Khashoggi arrived at the consulate several hours later at 1:14 p.m., then disappeared while his fiancee waited outside for him.

Turkish officials have said they believe Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist who was critical of the authoritarian kingdom's Prince Mohammed, was murdered at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 and his body removed. The Saudis have denied the allegations.

On Thursday, the Post published what it described as Khashoggi's last column in honour of the missing journalist. The column points to the muted international response to ongoing abuses against journalists by governments in the Middle East.

"As a result, Arab governments have been given free rein to continue silencing the media at an increasing rate," Khashoggi wrote. "The Arab world is facing its own version of an Iron Curtain, imposed not by external actors but through domestic forces vying for power."

A report Wednesday by the Turkish pro-government newspaper Yeni Safak, citing what it described as an audio recording of Khashoggi's slaying, alleged a Saudi team immediately accosted the 60-year-old journalist after he entered the consulate, cutting off his fingers and later decapitating him.

Previously leaked surveillance footage showed consular vehicles moving from the consulate to the consul general's official residence, some two kilometres away, a little under two hours after Khashoggi walked inside. The Sabah newspaper showed an image of the man at 4:53 p.m. at the consul's home, then at 5:15 p.m. checking out of a hotel. He later cleared airport security at 5:58 p.m.

The Khashoggi murder just gets stranger and stranger. Tonight, Saudi state tv confirmed that Khashoggi indeed died in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. But they're making this lame excuse that he died during an argument with "officials" that escalated into a fight and then these people covered up his death ...somehow. No mention of where his body or at least pieces of it wound up or the incredible coincidence of the two private jet's shuttling the alleged hit squad in and out of Turkey in less than a day's time which would indicate a high level of pre-planning.

It'll eventually blow over - just like Saudi Arabia's involvement in 9/11. A few key guys lose their positions but no criminal charges, time moves on and it's business as usual. Oil money and being a key "ally" works wonders.

Top Saudi Diplomat to Israeli Paper: ‘Age of War with Israel’ Is Over

    23 Jun 2019

The diplomat, who declined to be named, slammed the Palestinian leadership for “irresponsibly” panning the Trump administration’s long-anticipated peace deal without even seeing it.

“The bloody conflict has dragged on for too long. For us the Saudis, as well as for all the Gulf states, Egypt and Jordan, it is clear that the age of war with Israel has ended and that normalizing relations will only benefit us,” he said in interview published in Globes. “The entire Arab world can benefit from this, not only the Palestinians, and of course also [Israel].”

“History and Allah have brought a real opportunity to realize this,” he added.

He praised Israel’s technological prowess, saying that even those in the Arab world that “hate” Israel look to the Jewish state with “admiration over its success in [technology] and hopes to copy it.”

He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s deep commitment to the Palestinians but criticized them for hanging onto a victimhood identity.

“Maybe it is hard for them to separate themselves from the portrayal of the eternal victim and they don’t believe they can survive without it,” he said.

President Donald Trump’s so-called deal of the century would bring the Palestinians $50 billion, “sums they never dreamed of,” he said.

On Saturday, Palestinian officials denounced the economic portion of the peace plan unveiled by the White House.

According to the diplomat, the peace proposal also includes a vision for Palestinian statehood.

The deal provides a “clear path leading to total Palestinian independence,” he said.

He added that even the thorniest issues can be resolved, but the Palestinians are unwilling to accept that.

He acknowledged that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be the wrong person to be involved in a peace deal.

“We recognize [Netanyahu’s] excellent relationship with Trump and with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but it is clear to us that in the Israeli political structure it will be difficult for him to pass a diplomatic plan with the Palestinians,” he said.

“We believe that when the time comes for a decision, every Israeli leader, including Netanyahu, will adopt the path of peace, because that is what most Israelis want,” he added.

He praised Israel for revealing the danger posed by Iran to the world and lambasted Europe for not understanding that its commercial ties with Tehran “secures funds for terrorism.”

The Trump administration, on the other hand, “understands very well what Tehran’s goal is.”

Riyadh and Washington “have clear evidence that the terrorist attacks against the oil tankers were the work of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.”

Iran would not allow the situation to devolve into war, he said, because it has too much to lose.

‘New Era’: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Lifts Travel Restrictions on Women, Grants Them Greater Control

    August 2, 2019

RIYADH—Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has allowed adult women to travel without permission and granted them more control over family matters, further eroding a heavily criticized male guardianship system.

A series of royal decrees published by the official gazette on Friday stipulated that a Saudi passport should be issued to any citizen who applies for it and that any person above the age of 21 does not need permission to travel.

The amendments to regulations also grant women for the first time the right to register child birth, marriage or divorce and to be issued official family documents and be eligible as a guardian to children who are minors.

Riyadh has long endured international censure over the status of women, who rights groups say are often treated as second-class citizens under rules requiring them to get the consent of a male guardian for important decisions throughout their entire lives, regardless of age.

Muna AbuSulayman, a prominent Saudi influencer and a former talk show host, took to Twitter along with thousands of Saudi women to celebrate what many described as a new era.

“A generation growing up completely free and equal to their brothers,” she said.

The Crown Prince has eased social restrictions in the kingdom since coming to rule, such as lifting a driving ban for women last year, as part of a push to open up the conservative Islamic kingdom and transform the economy.

Guardianship’s status between law and custom makes it a challenging issue for Prince Mohammed, who indicated last year he favored ending the system but stopped short of endorsing its annulment.

Other parts of the sharia, or Islamic law, system remain intact, with women needing permission from a male relative to marry or live on their own.

A hashtag calling for marriage without a guardian’s consent was among the top trending along with a hashtag thanking the crown prince and another touting the new travel rules.

    Social Customs

The decrees published Friday also covered employment regulations that would expand work opportunities for women, who represent a big portion of unemployed Saudis. They stipulated that all citizens have the right to work without facing any discrimination based on gender, disability, or age.

Prince Mohammed unveiled an ambitious plan in 2016 to transform the economy by 2030, which envisages increasing women’s participation in the workforce to 30 percent from 22 percent.

Saudi Arabia ranked 141 of 149 countries in the 2018 Global Gender Gap, a World Economic Forum study on how women fare in economic and political participation, health and education.

Many Saudi officials say the fault lies in implementation and not government policy.

Without a codified system of law to go with the texts making up sharia, the Saudi police and judiciary have long cited social customs in enforcing prohibitions on women. Many aspects of guardianship stem from informal practice.

“Mohammed bin Salman has dedicated himself to fixing what extremists broke … This is not about openness as some call it, it is about equal rights for all,” a user called Wael tweeted.

The prince has pushed back against the religious establishment, including by arresting scores of clerics and dissidents.

Saudi Arabia opens tourism to ancient biblical sites: 'The atmosphere is changing' | Fox News
    October 15, 2019

As Saudi Arabia increasingly opens up to tourists, a travel group in the country started offering this week a "first-ever Christian tour of rare sites," promising participants a close-up look at a controversial location believed to be the real Mount Sinai — the mountain where, according to the Bible, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.

Saudi Arabia, which has been closed for tourism the last several decades and has a dismal record on human rights, decided to give tourist visas on the heels of the second delegation of evangelical leaders from America, hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman last year and earlier this year.

"The atmosphere in Saudi Arabia is changing," said Rhonda Sand, owner of U.S.-based travel company Living Passages. "They are hard at work developing the country for Western tourism."

Living Passages is taking a group of 25 people this week through "Jethro's Caves in the land of Midian," believed to be ancient Midian. The tour will be led by Joel Richardson, the author of "Mount Sinai in Arabia: The True Location Revealed."

“This portends to be the most significant new archaeological site in modern history," Richardson told Fox News. “We're tremendously blessed that the Saudi government is allowing us to visit the kingdom to see some of its rich historical and geographic treasures.”

Richardson, who said this is one of the most faith stirring experiences of his life, explained tourists will be flocking to see the historical mountain and other sites covered in a short documentary, "Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia," by Ryan Mauro, who will also be leading a tour in February.

Most notably, the group is visiting the Jebel al-Lawz mountain in the ancient land of Midian. Early Jewish, Christian and Bedouin traditions have long attested this site to be the real Mount Sinai. The controversial theory contests the traditional location in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula. On the north-west side of the mountain is the Split Rock of Horeb — a massive stone several stories tall, split down the middle, with evidence of water erosion at its base.

The Split Rock of Horeb in Saudi Arabia, believed to be the rock that Moses struck from which water flowed out of for the Israelites.

This week tourists will visit the town that has an ancient well, held to be where Moses met his wife Zipporah, daughter of Jethro, after fleeing Egypt. The group will explore the ruins of Dedan, Wadi Tayyib – along the Red Sea coast – and Tayma, where Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar may have occasionally stayed.

Beyond the historic sites, the kingdom is hoping to increase international tourism with new museums and first-class hotels — and even a smart city in the northwest called Neom, set to be fully functinal by 2025.
