I'm not sure if we have a thread for this but we all love our furry friends. These two have gotten me through some tough times. Both mutts. One is a Chihuahua mix and the other...have no idea...

Our dummy cat Cookie Dough. Yes my daughter named him that, he had that coloring when he was a kitten. He's very spoiled and pretty much a dog. He's not the normal cat, he's extremely friendly and loves people. And he'll sleep on you for hours. He's a Siamese so he meows a lot and when I mean a lot, I mean a lot!

We have many names for him. Haha. I call him Cookie Dumb usually because he's usually doing something dumb. My daughter likes to call him Mr. Zoboomafoo after that kid show because he kinda looks likes a lemur.

Here's my girl Phoebe. We rescued her at a year old after 3 other homes rejected her. She was "fully grown" at 45lbs...she turned out to be about 90lbs by the end of our first year with her. She's the smartest dog I've ever met, we had to have the entire house basically baby proofed for her. She loves to eat sour dough bread and frame my in-laws' dog for eating it (she'll put the packaging in the other dog's bed).

I just lost my lab Pixie after 17 years of love. Sucks I wish they lived longer breaks your heart when you have to put them to sleep etc.

Sorry to hear that, and I agree, I wish they lived longer. But she lived a great life for a dog. I've owned two Springer Spaniels in my lifetime, one I had as a kid and she lived to be 14. One as an adult, she was my baby, and she lived to be 16. I'll own another Springer someday.

The dog, err RAT, we have now is a purebred Decker Rat Terrier. He was given to me about six months before my last Springer died, so I was grateful I had him. He's 35 lbs of pure moocher. He's an ogre that will eat anything, as I've found out the hard way on several occasions. Over the years I've lost an entire package of Oreos, whole bags of chips, grilled cheese sandwiches, you name it.

Just last week, we woke up to find he had ransacked Mrs JD's lunch bag and scarfed down a protein bar and one of those big Costco double chocolate chip muffins! I swear he has a steel stomach. I love him though, and he's a big baby that will never venture far from my side. Always been a perfect worksite dog, as he wont leave me, and has never been spooked by concret trucks or pumps or excavators etc. He's 11 now.

We also have a cat, Mad Max the Road Warrior. So named because he made a 150 mile drive in the spare tire of Mrs JD's F-150 to adopt us as his own when he was only about 8 weeks old lol. He was part of one of the barn cat litters at Mrs JD's parents' farm. He was born in the loft of the chicken barn, and her Mom said he was the adventurous one, and the first of the litter to venture out of the loft. We figure he must have crawled up into the spare tire to nap, and Mrs JD came by the farm to grab her truck and the rest is history.

He's all grey with green eyes and thinks he's part dog, as he loves to fetch. A nice addition to our family a couple years ago.
