I just got two tickets--one for my dad and myself--to see the Sammy show Nov. 27 at Portland. I can't wait! We'll be blasting some Sammy tunes during the hour-long drive!

Anyone else purchased tickets for the Ten 13 tour yet?

That's cool, going with your Dad. What are your ages, if you don't mind my asking?

My dad's 43 and still rocking like he was in his 20's! I'm 15 and don't have my license so I can't go by myself anyway.

I'm not sure. It's a small theatre and the guy on the phone said they were the best seats available.

All you guys are making me jealous.

I hope Sammy comes to my area this time, unlike with Red Voodoo.

going to the Dec. 1 show at the universal amphitheater in L.A. mighty expensive, though: $60 (including service charges) for lower orchestra, right-center of stage.

Damn, that's more than I paid to see the Stones the last time they were out. Hope it's a great show.

yeah, last couple of times i've seen sammy it's been pricey (once was at the hard rock in las vegas, which at least was a pretty intimate venue; i've never been to the universal amphitheater; hoping it's on the small side, too).

at least i know it will be a good show; guy knows how to entertain.

I'm totally blown away that Sammy would charge that kind of money for a ticket. Is that what he charges everywhere, or just in a major center like L.A.? IMO that's WAY too high a price for a guy like Sammy to be charging for one concert ticket.

glenn, it's hard to say; i think what he's doing is booking shows at smaller venues - yet still putting on a semi-elaborate production - because he knows he's got a small, devoted fan base that will go see the show.

as someone pointed out in another thread, sammy's nothing if not a shrewd businessman; he knows he's better off charging $50 in a 5,000-seat arena than $25 in a 10,000-15,000-seat arena, because A) he knows he can't sellout the bigger venue; and B) he can justify the higher price because it's a more "intimate" show.

i don't go to a lot of concerts anymore, so i don't mind ponying up the cash for sammy, mostly because i am a big fan and i know what i'm going to get: a very entertaining and well-produced show.

by the way, not that it matters much, but the actual ticket price was $45; those fucking service charges ticketmaster throws on top pushed it to $60. and those were for the "best seats available;" tickets might be cheaper farther from the stage; i didn't ask the operator.
