    Question 'Once' Official Video-HQ

Please move this if it isn't where it should be..
I was going through archives and found ancient download links on van-halen.com for the Once music video. The links are either not archived or just long gone. I ripped the one that is on youtube, but it is in extremely poor quality. Does anyone know where I can find a high quality copy of the video? I am doing a documentary on VH for a video class I am taking, and want to add this video for the Gary Cherone section.
    Thank you so much.

I love the song and really enjoy the video concept, even in it's grainy form.
Totally dig the backstage/offstage shots which then cut to their onstage counterparts. Neat juxtaposition!!!

Would be thrilled to see a cleaned up version of this rarely seen video.
Let us know how you make out...

How did Alex, of all smart asses, let lyrics like this fly? Alex seems like the ball buster of ball busters.

Terrific track from a sorely under-appreciated album, and I too thought the video was really well executed.

I loved the "3" era, and view the early exit of Cherone as an unfortunate end to what could've been a run of wonderful, diverse and eclectic music wrapped around the Van Halen DNA.

Alas, it just wasn't meant to be...

I defended this album since it's release .... I love ONCE, Year to the day and fire in the whole. The solo on One i want is awesome. I definitely can finally admit there is some awful songs on there.

"Once" might be the best track on the record, but in all honesty, I don't know if you can call it a Van Halen song. There's no Alex and no Mike on it. It's basically an EVH solo song, with Gary Cherone guesting on it. Ed could finally let his Peter Gabriel influences out on a song.

Well, VH put Could This Be Magic on one of their albums...

    KISS had "Beth" etc.
Just different flavours for a band with such a variety of influences and musical talent. My $0.02.

    Read my signature.
VH III is Ed's solo album. So everybody who keeps saying they wish he'd do one needs to stfu and listen to III. Then stfu again.

I can still remember Alex being interviewed on 98 Rock here locally about the album, and I have never heard a guy give such a lukewarm reception to his own album.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I remember one interview where, when asked about III, instead of actually praising the album he said something about how Ed had never been happier with a record and seeing his brother smile so much meant a lot to him. I always thought that was a rather odd, if unselfish, answer. III was definitely Ed's album all the way, and probably would've been better received if people had known it was more a solo Ed album than a new VH album.

And the difference between putting a song like Once on a VH album compared to a Could This be Magic, is that EVERY member of the band at least takes part in CTBM with the gang vocals. I'm not sure Al and Mike take part in Once at all. It's odd, if Ed wanted a Peter Gabriel influence, why not at least have Al lay down some cool big drum parts a la Red Rain or In Your Eyes?

I don't think "Once" is either suited to, or lends itself to an 80's big drums sound at all. For me, it's perfect as it is.

    Agreed.
I've always referred to the song as having a cinematic quality to it... It's a piece of art, IMO, as it stands.

I strongly disagree, as Gabriel's own songs, that I mentioned, proved. But, if you liked having a VH song comprised of completely fake drums, that's cool. To me, when you have ALEX VAN HALEN in the band, it's a huge waste and yet another miscalculation on Ed's part.
