Voters are like woman who stay with dudes who cheat. They will get mad, throw out his stuff, call the woman names maybe trash her car they do anything and everything but fucking leave.

Both parties lie like a dog, betray voters and we will complain and bash the other party but we will not leave. 3rd party gets almost no votes, most vote on partisan lines, and incumbents still usually get re-elected.

And what happens if a politician does not lie and tell us what we want to hear? Remember when Mondale said hey we can not afford this so absolutely I will have to raise your taxes - he lost 49 states and almost lost his home state.

We are collectively the woman who does not leave and we got what we deserved

Only whoever the Libertarian candidate turns out to be. Maybe the Reform Party candidate, if that's still a thing. No duopoly candidate is gonna touch it, I bet, even though it's probly the most critical issue. Our current monetary and fiscal policies are literally robbing current and future populations but no one cares because American politics has become a live-action version of the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Unfortunately no libertarian will be a serious candidate anytime soon. I voted libertarian last time and the McCain election, only time I voted non republican since '88.

There are two problems. The official Libertarian Party is a bunch of cats. A guy named Vermin Supreme was in their debate on Nov. 2nd Look him up.

The second problem is, guess who makes the ballot access rules?

Gary Johnson was the first non-duopoly candidate to be on the ballot in all 50 states since Ross Perot. And in Ohio it had to be as an independent, if I remember correctly, because itís too hard as a third party. And it actually gets worse as it gets local.

Thereís a reason why only billionaires can do it easily.

Very frustrating that if we want nothing to do with the two major garbage parties that this is the best we can do otherwise.

Itís why Iíve started to describe myself as a ďdirectional libertarian.Ē Yeah, I believe in abolishing minimum wage. But as long as it is set locally, then thatís the best compromise. At least we are moving in a freer direction.

The problem with the party is you get the people who canít look past their principles. So they debate about whether we should have driver licenses. Itís like, do you want to be viable or not?

Yes Libertarians need to moderate their message. Well nationally come up with a platform that makes common sense for non-libertarians. unfortunately common sense and politics really don't go hand in hand.

I would simply like to see a moderate party emerge from the Dems and the GOP. Centrist. Then the GOP could be actually conservative with spending and social issues. The Dems then can be Socialists. Then create the new Libertarian part which would take some from all.

Four parties and maybe some sanity

In my opinion there will never be a pure Libertarian Party. Theyíre just too wacky and out there. The best thing, and what I still believe will happen, is a Rand Paul becoming president. Paul is not a fruitbat and heís an example of someone who can appeal not to both sides of the political aisle, but to both sides of the sane electorate.

Funny you bring up driver's licenses.

If it were up to me I'd get rid of them. They're useless. This hit home when I went to the DMV years ago to renew and this old guy who could barely walk was in line in front of me. They renewed his no questions asked.

I've had one driving test in almost 30 years of driving and that was when I first got my license when I was 16.

Here in Colorado now uou can renew it online. No vision test, no driving test, nothing.

Either do it right or don't do it at all.

I don't think the answer is to get rid of driver's licenses, it's to fix the process.

Also if you can drive at 16 and never gotten into legal issues driving then renewals should be simple. Why waste time retesting people who have proven to be good drivers?

I agree to a certain point.

But there are some people out there that have no business having a license and they're on the road causing carnage and mayhem.

Then you put them in jail and revoke their license forever. This is one of the good things about licensing people to drive. You can take it away.

There in lies another problem, who decides to take it? Then couple that to the fact that people drive illegally every day and not only kill people but destroy property then I agree with show. Itís just a money making racket.
