Police halt High Five Friday after concerns from parents

Students in Northampton used to begin Friday mornings with high fives and fist bumps from local police officers, but because of concerns from parents that program has been halted.

The “High Five Friday” program aimed to bring uniformed police officers to the city’s elementary schools on Fridays to welcome students to school. The idea for the program began after a law enforcement conference in San Diego, in which High Five Fridays were promoted as a way for officers to engage with young people, WWLP reported.

Northampton police said they received a lot of support for the program from the public, but there were also numerous concerns.

During a school committee meeting, concerns were raised that not all children would feel comfortable with a police presence at the beginning of the school day. Others started to question the long-term impacts of the program and wondered if the program was valuable.

After the meeting, police were asked to pause the program, which they did.

Police attended a follow-up meeting with members of the public to discuss High Five Friday. About a dozen people attended, and concerns were shared that some of the students may respond negatively to a group of uniformed police officers at their school, specifically students of color, undocumented immigrants and children who may have had a negative experience with police previously.

Northampton police made the decision to end the program after that meeting.

In a Facebook post, Northampton police said it will continue to explore ways to connect more with young people and will still accept high fives and fist bumps from anyone who asks an officer on the street.

A.T.F. Filled Secret Bank Account With Millions From Shadowy Cigarette Sales

WASHINGTON — Working from an office suite behind a Burger King in southern Virginia, operatives used a web of shadowy cigarette sales to funnel tens of millions of dollars into a secret bank account. They weren’t known smugglers, but rather agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The operation, not authorized under Justice Department rules, gave agents an off-the-books way to finance undercover investigations and pay informants without the usual cumbersome paperwork and close oversight, according to court records and people close to the operation.

The secret account is at the heart of a federal racketeering lawsuit brought by a collective of tobacco farmers who say they were swindled out of $24 million. A pair of A.T.F. informants received at least $1 million each from that sum, records show.

The scheme relied on phony shipments of snack food disguised as tobacco. The agents were experts: Their job was to catch cigarette smugglers, so they knew exactly how it was done.

Government records and interviews with people involved reveal an operation that existed on a murky frontier — between investigating smuggling and being complicit in it. After The New York Times began asking about the operation last summer, the Justice Department disclosed it to the department’s inspector general’s office, which is investigating. The inspector general “expressed serious concerns,” court records show.

It is unclear how broadly the A.T.F. adopted this practice, at what level it was approved, and whether it continues. Nearly all references to the A.T.F. have been blacked out of public court records, and most documents are entirely sealed.

The investigation and the looming racketeering trial will bring renewed scrutiny to the A.T.F., which has been buffeted in recent years by the botched gun-tracking operation known as Fast and Furious and its mismanagement of undercover investigations. Members of Congress, particularly Republicans, have heaped criticism on the agency for decades, and the National Rifle Association has lobbied to limit the agency’s authority and funding.

While government auditors have previously cited problems with A.T.F.’s tobacco investigations, this operation went beyond what was identified in that audit, released in 2013. The A.T.F. and the Justice Department declined to comment.

Documents in the racketeering lawsuit outline the A.T.F. operation. The tobacco cooperative is suing a former employee and a consultant who, according to court documents, both worked as A.T.F. informants. The informants have denied all wrongdoing.

Obama is building a 30,000 person army of “lynch mob” agitators to start riots, civil war across America

Barak Hussein Obama is not sitting idly by watching the dismantling of his disastrous and destructive legacy after eight years in the White House. Quite the contrary. He and Michelle are setting up a “shadow white house within two miles of [President] Trump,” reports the New York Post. It is from this vantage point that the former President and First Lady will be leading “a group of leftist non-profits led by Organizing for Action” (OFA). Author Ed Klein pointed this out on Fox News before President Trump’s inauguration.

The OFA currently has over 250 offices in America and more than 32,000 fired up participants, along with another 25,000 who are actively being trained for six weeks in the same “Alinsky agitation tactics Obama received in Chicago when he was a community organizer.” Saul Alinsky (1909 – 1972) was a highly motivated and fiery Chicago socialist whose ideology has been a strategic model for both Obamas. Alinsky’s well known book “Rules for Radicals” was dedicated to Lucifer.

The OFA has raised over $40 million in donations and grants since 2013 when it morphed out of another Obama organization called Organizing for America. Because the OFA is organized as a 501 (c) (4), it doesn’t have to disclose who provides the funding, but you can be sure that Obama’s pal, the notorious, evil billionaire pal George Soros certainly has skin in the game. Frontpagemag.com points out that in 2014, according to IRS tax filings, the donors giving OFA the most were members of the “Soros- founded Democracy Alliance,” a group formed for “left-wing billionaires devoted to radical political change.”

To extend it’s reach, the OFA has teamed up with another anti-Trump progressive group called Indivisible, which boasts “4,500 local groups signed up to resist Trump in nearly every Congressional district in the country.” One of their first joint OFA/Indivisible projects was an online training Recess Tool Kit, which instructs the newly trained agitators how to “bully GOP lawmakers into backing off support for repealing ObamaCare, curbing immigration from high-risk Islamic nations, and building a border wall.” As Breitbart has exposed, “Indivisible leaders are openly associated with groups financed by billionaire George Soros.”

In addition to the OFA goal of keeping ObamaCare and resisting President Trump’s conservative agenda on immigration issues, there are other platforms Obama and his band of OFA minions are desperate to salvage. These include a platform to fight against “climate deniers,” promote gun control, and ensure that women still have the right to kill their young inside the womb, among others. Reading through the issues pushed by OFA, is a stark reminder of what the past eight years have been – and what could have been had Hillary Clinton been elected. As you may recall, Soros donated $25 million dollars to get her in the White House. It’s clear he’s still trying to make good on his investment.

That a former president is actively engaged, merely weeks after stepping down, in preserving a lying and destructive agenda is something new in America, but these days, how can we be surprised at any attempts by those intent on a globalist agenda to thwart President Trump? The disconnect between reality and lies is growing bigger for those who have signed up for another ride on the Obama train. Time will tell if these organized agitators will employ violence or mayhem. The former White House occupier may possess the biggest disconnect of all, with an ego that prevents him from knowing it.

My son high fived the police officer at the front door of his school today. Didn't seem to be a big deal. Maybe because it's Wednesday?

It's harder to text their outrage to each other if they are outside protesting, easier to do when sitting inside.

Also, if they march, they might get some sun and a little bit of exercise. That would get rid of the pasty, flabby look that is so in style.

James O'Keefe of Project Veritas is set to unleash holy hell Thursday on #FakeNews network CNN. Well, he didn't exactly say it was CNN, but it was heavily implied. Apparently the network has a mole...

O'Keefe is known for undercover sting operations which have led to such bombshells as the DNC's paid agitator network, the outing of "DisruptJ20" / Antifa organizers which took place at comet ping pong - and netted three arrests (including a suspected pedophile), and most recently New Hampshire election fraud.

Today O'Keefe was interviewed on Sean Hannity's radio show where he revealed that a major network has been "stung"

O'Keefe: In the next 48 hours, Project Veritas, like Wikileaks, will be releasing hundreds of hours of tape from within the establishment media. Our next target is in fact, the media.

Hannity: How long have you been working on this?

O'Keefe: We've had people on the inside come to us. Just like Julian Assange has people come to him, we've had people, sources come to us and give us information, and we're going to be releasing it "Wikileaks Style" this week.

    Moments later:

Hannity: Can you give us a hint what organizations are going to be impacted by this?

O'Keefe: It's one that Trump has really been talking about, you can probably use your imagination.

    Hannity: So, it's CNN...

In other words, a closeted Trump supporter working deep inside hyper-liberal CNN just gave O'Keefe a ton of behind the scenes footage of "The Most Trusted Name In News." My guess is we're about to hear a bunch of establishment media puppets revealing their extreme hatred for the sitting President of the United States.

Remember that time CNN employees were laughing about Trump's plane crashing? If O'Keefe's release is anything along these lines, popcorn sales are about to go through the roof...

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-0...urs-newsroom-f

O'Keefe said in a telephone interview with CNN on Wednesday that he has "a few hundred hours" of "secretly recorded material" from inside the network. "We're calling it CNN Leaks," he said, drawing inspiration from WikiLeaks' document dumps.

He said "part one" would be published Thursday at about 10 a.m. ET. "This is all legally recorded information," he said, declining to be more specific.

Bill Maher, Faulted for Booking Milo Yiannopoulos, Takes Credit for His Fall

If you were disappointed that Bill Maher brought Milo Yiannopoulos onto his HBO show “Real Time” last week, Mr. Maher is not especially bothered.

In a telephone interview on Tuesday night, Mr. Maher batted back criticism of the booking by arguing that the appearance of Mr. Yiannopoulos actually helped expose the incendiary right-wing personality’s views to a wider audience and hasten his sudden downfall.

Mr. Yiannopoulos’s collapse was set in motion Sunday when a conservative group called the Reagan Battalion resurfaced a 2016 interview in which he endorsed sexual relations with boys as young as 13. Mr. Yiannopoulos — known for a history of offensive remarks about Muslims, Jews, transgender people and other groups, and as a ringleader in a notorious incident of online harassment — lost a speaking slot at the Conservative Political Action Conference and a book deal with Simon & Schuster, and then said on Tuesday that he was resigning as a senior editor from Breitbart News.

Mr. Maher has been dealing for days with the fallout from his booking of Mr. Yiannopoulos. The journalist Jeremy Scahill, who had been scheduled to appear on the same episode, withdrew from the show. Mr. Maher has defended the booking on free-speech grounds, saying last week that if Mr. Yiannopoulos was indeed a monster, “nothing could serve the liberal cause better than having him exposed.”

But following the show, Mr. Maher came under attack for the chummy and conciliatory vibe of his conversation with Mr. Yiannopoulos and for a panel segment, broadcast online, in which his guest made more inflammatory remarks that seemed to go unchallenged.

Speaking on Tuesday night, Mr. Maher, who counts himself as a liberal, did not sound particularly chastened by these assessments. He said he knew his interview with Mr. Yiannopoulos would never be satisfactory to some viewers. “No matter what I did,” he said, “it was never going to be enough for that slice of liberalism that would much rather judge a friend than engage an enemy, because it’s easier.”

Mr. Maher spoke further about the experience of having Mr. Yiannopoulos on “Real Time” and its aftermath, and why he will continue to seek out provocative conservative guests. These are edited excerpts from that conversation. (cont.)

I found Maher's psycho ramblings about Trump and the Russians way more offensive than anything Milo said or did.

+ First and only time I ever saw this show because it was a free HBO weekend... and Milo is the only reason I tuned in.
