THREE organizations presented and I would bet they were public about their efforts. I would also bet, if any of you even paid attention in the first place, your commentary was more about the crackpot greenies and what they were smoking, better not spend MY tax money on that bullshit.
So the guy that has the power to order that this be fixed chooses to do nothing when he knows there is a problem but the fault lies with everyone else?

    That's absurd.

People can write letters, scream and holler until they're blue in the face and protest, but until someone who has the authority to order that the dam be fixed gives that order none of that matters.

Brown and others in positions of authority were warned about this years ago and chose to do nothing. That's on them, not Joe Q citizen who does not have the power to order that the dam be fixed.

People in LA and San Francisco, far away from Oroville and its dam. I bet you half the residents of those two cities don't even know where Oroville is or that there's a dam there.

So guys like Brent shoulda driven up to oroville on his weekends with his shovel and done the work themselves?

Look, concerns were raised and the officials involved, elected and appointed, chose the no-action option, as officials will do. As far as voting the clowns out, well I doubt many used the no action on a spillway during drought years as a litmus test for the voting booth. Remember, the darn lake has been at 20-30% full the last several years.

Also, we're having to fund Jerry's $60 billion super train fantasy. That does put a dent in the old checking account. Now we have no choice, work will have to be done, just hope to God there arent any lives lost in this mess.

I knew there was a lake there but I was quite surprised to learn that it's the tallest dam in the US. Even taller than Hoover.

F*ck it, not sure why I bothered. Obviously, the concept of what accountability really is, is lost on some of you. That shouldn't surprise me, yet it always does.

I am not a fan of Gov Jerry Brown, but this is not all on him.

Oroville dam and several other issues like it were brought up to the previous administration as well. That would be Gov Arnold Scharzenegger (2003-2010). Arnold also did nothing.

It is always easy to pass the Infrastructure issues down the road since they are not immediate threats. UNTIL THEY BECOME IMMEDIATE THREATS. Buck has to stop here.

    Here is the latest. http://www.kcra.com/article/1-week-l...-stand/8778911

Evacuation still in place. Repair work being done 24/7 ahead of Thursday possible rain. Helicopters dropping bags of rock/dirt.

Lake level is way down to under 850 ft. They are trying to drop it another 50 ft before Thursday just to give them so room for new rain.

Guys, you have to understand that we here in California had higher priorities, like our $64 billion high speed rail project. Idiot voters gave it funding in a 2008 ballot initiative, but it turns out even the easiest parts of it are 50% over budget. And we should really be thanking you guys, because California mostly plans on funding it using federal dollars. Trump likeshigh speed rail, so it wouldn't surprise me to see more funding as part of the $1 trillion infrastructure 'investment' he and the Democrats favor.

Who needs to fix things like dams when you could get to LA from San Francisco in two and a half hours?

To be fair... It will really help with my beer runs down to LA breweries. Hopefully there is a stop in Torrance, Monkish Brewery is blowing up down there.

If they could extend the rail line to San Diego I would be in heaven...haha...

    Get on it Trump!

I hope they're ready to go again on a moment's notice because the forecast is not in their favor:

I finally went to You Tube to look at some dam video, and I found this:

I know this may have already been covered, but, I just wanted to emphasize, that while many dams in California, and the Western US, are US Govt. owned and operated by The United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), the Oroville Dam is owned and operated by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), which is part of a cabinet level agency, the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA). So the onus is all on California, and not the Feds.
