OK. Finally I got the red Kramer '84 (Red w/ Floyd Rose™). The guitar needed a minor setup (string action was at 4mm!, the bridge was slightly tilted). There were some minor paint flaws. Other than that - the neck is a wee bit fat but not that chunky I expected! You can get used to it. The access to the upper frets could be better. The single Seymour Duncan JB humbucker pickup does the job; I usually don't use the middle or neck pickup so I am pretty happy with it. You can, however, do some coil tapping from time to time. The tremolo (Floyd Rose 1000) stays in tune almost perfectly even after some crazy FR sessions. As of now, I am not planning to install a tremol-no, althought I already bought one. Overall, a good buy. Don't know abut the quality of the EVH striped series 5150, but considering the price per quality ratio and the headstock shape, I am OK with my purchase.

Caution! From 2016 on, the 84 Kramers are produced in Indonesia. My guitar was proudly made in Korea in 2015.

I have to admit, I pondered getting one of those Kramer 1984 axes as well.
Glad you're happy with you purchase.

I don't think its the mic so much as it is the guy's settings. This amp is going to replace my 50 watt I'm pretty sure.
